We spend 3 nights at the cottage and were actually just looking for a bed in between birding walks but the atmosphere of the cottage and the views were so relaxing that we spend more time enjoying the place reading a book on the terrace while occasionally being visited by sunbirds, black-breasted bush shrike and Cape batis. Crowned eagle made...

We have 5 kids. We wanted to take them on an adventure to kick off 2017. We booked the Farmhouse at Kurisa Moya, which offered space and a trip back in time to 1937, when the farmhouse was built. We were relieved that there was no electricty (although there is solar power) so the kids abandoned their electronics and instead...

We visited Kurisa Moyo after reading all the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. The actual location is magical, gorgeous forests and walking trails. Because it was rainy we had to spend most of our time indoors and Kurisa Moyo definitely does not offer the cosy accommodation which we believed it would be. Therefore all the images attached. We opted for fully...

Myself and 2 friends spent 3 fantastic evening at Kurisa Moyo at the Thora Boloko Cottage. The weather wasn't the best but this didn't bother us and the actually cottage is made for this kind of weather with a fantastic fireplace, comfortable couch and magnificent views. What a way to recharge your batteries and relax. The cottage had everything you...

My wife, our two dogs and I escaped the concrete jungle over the past long weekend and made our way to Kurisa Moya. Everything about the lodge exceeding our expectations. We stayed in the Thora Boloka cottage - completely isolated on the top of a hill overlooking the Kudus River valley. The lodge is off the grid but electricity is...

We spent two nights October 17th and 18th in the Old Farm House at Kurisa Moya. Once again excellent. We birded the the Kurisa Moya forest with Paul in the rain with great results. Fantastic photographs of the Tambourine Dove, Green Twinspot, African Firefinch, Swee Waxbill and Red-backed Mannikin. Thank you Lisa and team, hope to be back shortly.

My fiance and I were craving a weekend away from the concrete jungle and our stay in the Thora Boloka Cottage was more than we had hoped for! The website doesn't do it justice, the large patio with a dining table and hammock overlooks a beautiful valley and mountains. The interior was clearly put together by someone with a creative...

For my birthday this year my family treated me to a 3 night stay at Kurisa Moya. What an experience! From the minute we arrived to the time we left my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in our cosy log cabin. David and Paul, renowned birders, were very enthusiastic and always willing to share a birding experience...

We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend in one of the forest cabins which was beautifully appointed and fully functional, despite the lack of electricity. The sounds of wildlife all around created a peaceful harmony with nature. Spent a productive morning with David as our bird guide and were rewarded with some special sightings in the forest and at the bird...

We stayed in one of the forest cabins where I surprised my girlfriend by proposing to her right in the middle of this beautiful forest. The accommodation was excellent and from the moment we arrived we felt like we would not want to leave this magical place. Planning a proposal at a place where you have never been before was...

Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge Guest Lodge Accommodation Restore your spirit Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge is only 3 - 4 hours from Johannesburg, but the privacy and tranquility offered at this Nature Lodge will truly restore your spirit. Kurisa Moya is a 422 hectare property in the Magoebaskloof area near Tzaneen, Polokwane in the Limpopo Province. Kurisa Moya is perched on the edge of the Drakensburg escarpment, so it has mesmerising views out over the lowveld. This soulful place embraces a pristine indigenous forest with massive moss-covered trees where ancient Yellow-woods carry an energy all of their own. Burbling streams make their way over boulders to the dams below. Here, nature's tranquility is broken only by booming Samango monkeys, croaking crimson-winged Knysna Turacos and Bushbuck barks. Kurisa Moya has mountains, rivers, indigenous forests and bushveld and offers accommodation in 3 unique venues - each private and tranquil. Activities include 7 marked walking paths, hiking trails, guided birding walks with South Africa's top local bird guide, 4x4 sunset drives, fly-fishing lessons, guided nature walks, Adventure Mountain Bike trails, village tours and home stays. ... more   less
