We camped here with rooftop tents. The space is a tarmac area next to a big and clean ablution block, so no wilderness feeling. The location, next to the main road to Petauke causes some "noise". Price for camping is about EUR 10,- pp/night. Restaurant serves local dishes at cheap prices. Theey have also cabins for rent. Good for stop...

An overnight stop between destinations. Service was good, the rooms offered were basic but comfortable with a decent shower. The majority of the staff were kind and friendly and the setting quite pleasant. The restaurant has a limited local menu and breakfast buffet with cereal, tea/coffee toast etc. We stayed twice during our road trip from Malawi to South Africa...

On the road between Lusaka and Chipata is the small market town of Petauke, and just far enough off the highway is the Chimwemwe Lodge. We were welcomed warmly by the proprietor, and shown to our large en suite motel style rooms where we parked. The white, black and gold themed rooms were perfectly clean with good linen and towels....

We stayed in tents on a Nomad tour but the general rooms seemed better than we expected considering the fairly remote location. There didn't seem much to do in the area but OK for a stopover. The showers apparently had hot water but it didn't seem to work very well. Also no wifi.

Simple lodge with private bungalows and clean beds The Bathrooms are getting redone, but manageable for one night's stay. Close to a busy road which can be loud out night. Easy and convenient stop along an overland tour.

I stayed here as part of a Nomad tour - I didn't enjoy it at all. Not very clean, used soap in ensuite, no wifi, poor showers. I think this is fine for a night or two but I wouldn't recommend the property. I also found the staff to be quite disinterested.

Spent a night here as part of an overland tour with Nomad. I liked the rooms in this hotel. It was very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly. The rooms were in little chalets and were a decent size.

Another stop on our overland trip. This was one of the better lodges. Clean & comfortable room, hot shower but grubby bathroom. We had a lodge quite a long way from the truck, almost opposite the reception which would have normally been fine but we asked to be moved. This was done without any fuss. Many thanks.

Stayed here in February 2014. Great little lodge. Had my own lodge with thatched roof and bathroom. Food is lovely and they are happy to make meals to suit Vegetarians. Good for a few nights away. Lovely surroundings and beautiful buildings.

When we arrived our room had not been sorted even though we had booked over a month ago we felt the price for just a room and not including breakfast was exorbitant to say the least . We had no lights when the generator ran and even after reporting the matter no one came to sort the problem . The...
