We had good time in here! The hostel is great! So good breakfast with an amazing view in the morning! Then get ready to do some hikes near by! The area is very nice! The village is cozy! Confortable and big living room!! Some shopping in supermarket and get ready for cooking in the nice and big kitchen!

Good - friendly staff, lovely views (although I preferred the lake view in the town to the south), close to the bus stop for those without a car and decent breakfast. Bad - the actual room (we had a double). It had a funny smell, there were multiple long hairs in the bathroom when we arrived, the shower was tiny, the bed was short and uncomfortable and the towels/sheets were of very poor quality- even for a hostel. Pay extra and get a hotel.

Lovely place to start your Geres trip. Friendly folks. Had the run-rule of the roost, chalet to myself for hostel dorm price. How freedom scottish is that. Nice to have friends, but no boo-hoo: hostels attract too many loud people. Oh, shut up: the main thing to say is that this is a perfect start for exploring Geres. Facilities are fine and my advice is to come here and enjoy. Even if you're a lonely sod like me, the great people and scenery will perk you up.

The hostel is located higher up in the village so even the parked cars have a great view of the valley from here. The staff was friendly, particularly flexible with the check in time, and without an issue offered me a different room after a snoring-neighbour-situation. There is a shared kitchen which was clean and big. The breakfast room is great with glass windows all around with a view, but bring your own stuff if you prefer to eat healthy as apart from some apples the only option is white bread, cornflakes and yogurt with sugar. I wish I read some of the reviews before as there is WIFI ONLY IN THE COMMON ROOM.

The breakfast was good with a lovely view. The hostel location is great with restaurants about 5-10 minute walk. We stayed in the double room with shared bathroom. Bathrooms were only shared between 4 people which is great! didn't have any problems getting in when we wanted. bed and pillows were comfortable. There was also a sink and bidet in the room which was a bit weird, but the sink is actually really handy in there. Wifi only in the common room doesn't even extend into the kitchen/dinning area. The walls are quite thin so you can hear other guest, it was slightly out of season when we went so it was quite quiet so this wasn't a huge problem. Also one more small thing our bathroom didn't have a detachable shower head so it was hard not to get my hair wet while washing, so maybe bring a shower cap for those days you don't wash your hair! Overall the value was good for what you got! great if you are travelling on a budget.

We went here for 1 night. So my wife booked a hostel. It was our first hostel experience, and it was not that bad. Welcome was nice. Girl who received us couldn't speak English very well so she spoke only the necessary words. Short but very clear. Our room 104 had a separate bathroom which was ok but could be a little bit better by mounting the shower head to the wall. Makes the showering a little bit easier. Room itself had a nice view to the valley of Gerês. Room was big enough for 2. Bed was a little bit to small for us and to short for me. Matras was also really hard. Didn't like that either :(. Breakfast was a buffet with the things you need. Bread cheese meat cornflakes orangejuice some fruit.... Dishes has to be done by yourself since it's a hostel. So overall 7 to 10 for me. O, fluids and some snacks can be bought. A nice big tv is available in the common room.

We had a nice room with a balcony with a view. The hostel has a very nice terrace with good views, i.e. for breakfast. Possibility for using the well equipped kitchen. We also had another room, which was more basic and dormitory-like - and quite warm.

In my journey in Hostel Gerês I highlight the staff the availability and sympathy, the cleanness of the room and the general facilities. The breakfast is simple but more than reasonable. The quality/price is above the expectations. In the room were we stayed the share terrace was amazing, giving us a really nice view of the village and the contact with the peace and nature of Gerês. The localization in the center of the village, near to restaurants and other facilities. The only improvement would be in the room, with focus on furniture, specially the bed was to old and make a lot of noise while sleeping. The decoration of all Hostal was really nice, showing a good taste.
