The hotel is located in a beautiful and historic Dutch bungalow. The staff is truly exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and well taken care of. The combination of historic charm, modern amenities, and exceptional service make it a truly special place to stay.

We flew in to Kochi and stayed here for just one night on our travels down the west coast of Kerala. It was such a pleasant stay. The staff here were very kind and helpful and were happy to answer all our questions and queries. The hotel facilities were lovely, the room was great, very clean with a very modern bathroom. The pool was amazing and a great place to cool off in the hot Kerala weather. The most amazing thing was the food, the curries were delicious, as well as the breakfast buffet. Can't comment enough on how lovely and helpful the staff were as well, they made our stay in Kochi very easy and enjoyable.

Staff were all very helpful. Food was great whether it was Indian or European style. Breakfast a little limited but as the hotel only has 14 rooms you wouldn’t expect a big spread. Great location to get to most places with a short walk or tuk tuk ride. Interesting places to go especially if you have an interest in the history and background to the area.

A beautiful old restored bungalow in a great location for the busy, tourist part of Fort Kochi, a lot of character and charm with enormous, comfortable rooms—bigger than my first studio apartment ! Friendly helpful staff. Not as luxe as some of the nearby hotels but we liked the vibe better.

The place was quite run down, had the potential to be beautiful but needed work. They don’t serve alcohol, and they don’t provide conditioner or tissues, I asked for tissues and was given a pile of serviettes from the restaurant and a toilet roll. The staff on the whole were very nice and friendly

We visited this hotel and stayed for 3 nights. It is a lovely old building in a quiet and pretty part of the old town in Kochi. However the hotel itself is quite run down and appears to have had little maintenance for a long time. It is badly in need of painting and renovation. The breakfast selection was the most limited of any hotels we stayed at in India.

Lovely heritage hotel in a quiet location but close to the major attractions of Fort Kochi. We had a very large bedroom which was spotlessly clean and still had loads of space after adding a third bed for our child. Room came with a small separate sitting room with a sofa & fridge plus an outdoor balcony seating area overlooking the swimming pool. We ate four times in the restaurant where the food was good, safe to eat and the menu offered both Indian and western food. A meal for three with side dishes, a huge chocolate milkshake and two large bottles of water cost us around £15 in total. Waiters and reception staff were all friendly and helpful. Chefs are quite slow to cook your meals and your group tend to each receive their meals at different times, but all the food is freshly cooked to order.

It was a very bad idea that I've purchased their one year membership because out of 6 properties I've stayed during this year 2 of them treated us as free stayers and this staff at dutch bungalow being the worst.. for breakfast my children went first to the restaurant and when I went to the restaurant after an hour I saw my children still waiting for food.. when asked the manager,he gave me an absolute unprofessional reply that there's only one more guest staying at the hotel they went to the restaurant first so we have to wait till they finish..the reason is they have only one chef and he's busy with the other guest.. then I asked him then y did they take our booking and his rude reply was that I must ask the one who took the booking..and he's helpless.... Abad has some good properties but they must hire some polite staff to cater and for the maintenance of the property

Decided to go to Dutch Bungalow, as it was previously owned by my ancestor Rao Sahib Mangat Kurien Varughese. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Wonderful staff. Took us around the place. Elegant rooms with teakwood panelling.
