I have been staying at Casa Carmen for the past several years. When friends who stay at other hotels come to visit me at Casa Carmen they always regret they did not book a stay at Casa Carmen. Old colonial building, just a block and half from the Jardin (main plaza), each room different and cozy in some special way.... More

The photograph of the deep, cool entryway from the street into Casa Carmen brings back so many warm memories. That street, Correo, leads, in two blocks, to the green and leafy Jardin, and you are in the center of all things San Miguel de Allende, making Casa Carmen very central and convenient. We spent a perfect week in February at... More

The hotel is very comfortable and centrally located, just 2 blocks from the central square. There is no air conditioning, but we already knew that from a previous stay. I had written ahead for reservations (via email) but never received a response, so eventually booked through Expedia. Expedia had cheaper rates than those listed on the hotel's website. The WiFi... A beautiful old colonial building with an exquisite courtyard where you can read and relax. The staff is super friendly and attentive. You can't go wrong with this location. A yummy breakfast and lunch are included.

We reserved with almost 1 month of anticipation and 1 day before our arrival they sent a message saying they didn't have any rooms available. I called to complain and they just told me sorry there's nothing we can do. Completely unprofessional, they could've told me weeks ago.

Nice hotel with a wonderful and helpful staff. It is just a few short blocks from the Jardin, the center of town, and close to good traditional Mexican and International restaurants. Good shopping and there is always something happening at the Jardin.

We can’t give this a five; it isn’t at that level. But we were very happy there. A nice room with a good bed. The house is a charming old colonial with a large central courtyard and most of the rooms surrounding it. Great location, just one block from the central square and surrounded by restaurants and bars. The staff... More

My friend and I stayed there 2 weeks ago. We were actually booked somewhere else in SMA but left after 2 nights. Casa Carmen was wonderful. Each of our rooms were lovely. The breakfast was delicious and most important the staff was incredible. Nothing was impossible for them! It's very close to the Jardin so you hear the church bells,... More

Each year we look forward to our return to San Miguel and Casa Carmen. It is like a second home to us. We have been doing this since 2003, when friends introduced us to this place. Casa Carmen has a great location, is convenient, attractive, serves good food, and has a wonderful staff. We also meet the nicest people there,... More

Casa Carmen is a lovely bed and breakfast, very centrally located, where you can tell immediately that this is part of the history of San Miguel becoming a haven for ex-pats. This is a part of the charm of this hotel, as like much of the town, the building that houses the hotel was rescued and restored to its former... More
