We visited the George several times during our stay in the village , firstly just for a drink on a hot day , then twice to sample their restaurant menu which , though not particularly extensive , provided good and varied choice . Having both opted for the scallops & boudin noir , followed by the Chateaubriand , we could...

Stayed for three nights for a wedding held in the area. Friendly staff and lovely food. I had cooked breakfast and an evening meal- with olde pudding ?? Lemon flummery was delicious. Room basic but bed comfortable. Shame that the bathroom floor was filthy and had previous occupants hair! The church opposite has a unique charm and not only rings...

I stayed a couple of nights spread over two weeks and it was a wonderful experience. The first night was on St. Georges Day and I was not expecting the incredible atmosphere, music and dramatic performances that I encountered. Besides from the festivities the breakfast was of a very high standard and the service was very friendly and made me...

Very disappointed. I realise that I booked this on one of the hotel sites as a special offer as I was working nearby, but it was still a poor place to stay for the money. Room was shabby and cold. There seemed to be hardly anyone in the bar yet I could hear them clearly from my room. I thought...

Hello Paul - thank you for taking the time to review The George . I am so very sorry we did not meet your expectations. I am a little surprised that you found the room "cold and shabby" . Heating is very much a personal thing in bedrooms - if you would have liked it warmer it is only a...

The hosts are friendly, the beer great, the room was good value, the evening meal excellent, and the breakfast all you would expect. If the sun is shining as it was for us the garden is lovely, but they also have a covered area if it rains. Highly recommend this traditional English Inn. We chose the place for convenience and...

The hotel was booked without any prior knowledge but fate was definitely on our side. To see the inn in its rural setting for the first time was truly wonderful and the reception we received was both warming and heartfelt. The room was spacious and very well appointed and comfortable and in the bar we received a very warm welcome...

We stayed here for only one night with our son, daughter in law and grandson to get together for a couple of days walking. How I wish we had stayed longer! The rooms are comfortable, the food is superb and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Well done everyone.
