We stopped at the Victory on Saturday for a drink and then decided to have some lunch. We ordered two Ham, Egg and Chips at £6.50 each and two Scampi and Chips at £7. We were disgusted when the plates came out as they were like childrens' meals especially the Scampi and Chips!! We had paid £7 for 5 pieces...

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were not happy with your meals. During the school holidays, we serve a snack menu between 3 and 6pm. This is usually served from the food shack in the garden, so that the chefs can clear down in the kitchen. As the weather has not been too good, we have...

Stopped for lunch last week whilst on a one day visit to Mersea, ordered fish & chips, goats cheese pizza and potatoe falafel burger. The food arrived fairly quickly considering it was a busy time, and was very good. The family member that had the falafel burger said it was the best meal he had out for a very long time.Staff...

We spent a day exploring West Mersea. Having walked along the beach for a while we came to the harbour , saw the Victory pub and took a chance on having lunch there. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We both ordered the ploughmans, which was described as having European cheeses and variety of cured meats. My husband requested just cheddar...

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your ploughman's. We normally get very good feedback on them. If you had told us at the time I am sure we could've done something about it. If you return, please let us know and we will offer you a discount from your meal.

Outstanding Room, truly welcome and friendly service and Superb food. Will definitely be going back, but for longer next time. Great walks, High street a 5 min walk away. A very relaxing stay away from the daily bustle.

We chose to have lunch at The Victory during a sunny visit to Mersea. The place wasn't very busy and we were quickly and politely seated and given menus, from which we chose 'light bites'. Our drinks, orange juices, arrived within minutes although it did take about 20 minutes for the food (apologies from the waiter when it did arrive)....

Just had a very enjoyable stay. We had lovely room, with a great view complete with sounds of the sea. We only stayed the one night but had a good evening meal and a good choice for breakfast served in substantial portions. We wished we had stayed longer so will be going back.

Our group enjoyed being based here, the room's were clean. The bathroom was better than some hotels. Breakfast was very tasty and the menu looked to cater to most. They provided a veggie option that was not even listed when asked for by some of our party. The pub has a very comfortable vibe, obviously being used by locals and...

Stayed for 2 nights in the garden apartments. Peaceful and just perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very clean and well equipped. Large breakfast to die for. The beer in the bar and food in the restaurant in the evenings was excellent. That was after our lunch of oysters from just over the road. Perfect, just perfect.
