Beautiful and remote. NZ at its best. Good to have hiking and camping gear. Cabin was simple but clean and had the basics. It's remote so come prepared. The roads were washed out so also check that before coming. Great for hikers and fisherman.

Stayed in these chalets before being done up and was very impressed with how they have now been transformed.... Great job, Fantastic place and nice to have such friendly staff adding that little bit extra to our enjoyable holiday...
We loved the new re-fit of the John Scott designed Chalets. They are amazing spaces. Warm, clever, homely spaces, we could have stayed much longer. Very much worth the trip and I would recommend for anyone. Shame they demolished the Visitor Centre though...
