We recently spent 3 nights here. The campground had good facilities and was clean. The showers were great - nice and hot, good pressure and token free! The site shop also had petrol pumps which was handy but the fuel is pricey. The lake is beautiful but very windy so make sure to ask for a site out of the...

If you can tolerate the 75 Kms gravel road from Murupara (or 25 Kms gravel road from Wairoa), you will find this holiday park rewarding in its proximity to enjoy Lake Waikaremoana and its surrounding activities. We stayed at the Chalet and hence can comment on the condition of the Chalet. First, the Staff were very helpful and this being...

This review is for the chalet accommodation at Waikaremoana Holiday Park. We have 7-week-year-old baby and decided that our usual camping style may be too intense (no pun intended)… but we just needed to get outdoors so decided on the chalet as it has it's own bathroom and kitchen. These chalets are not fancy but clean, tidy and cosy. I...

We stayed in chalet at holiday park. Great accommodation! Very clean and tidy, plenty of hot water, super friendly staff, great beds, fridge, all you needs and heaps of light switches! We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a magical view from our cabin. Beautiful and scenic.. only downside is we didn't catch a trout but plenty to see. The staff were so helpful particularly when we locked the keys in the boot of our hire car. They helped with phone calls and arrangements to get help to get us back on the road. Thank you...

A wet and cold weekend at the lake was saved by a cosy tourist cabin at the Holiday Park. Equipped with everything you could need for a weekend of chilling even a heat pump. Awesome friendly staff and well stocked shop. If you're going to be stuck inside at least you've got a million dollar view. And then we got...

We stayed in one of the chalets the night before and the night after doing the great walk around the lake. Being winter, the place didn't appear to be busy. I was disappointed with the general condition of the unit...worn stained carpet (a whole patch replaced by a grubby looking piece in one corner), window ledges with accumulated grime, the...

I stayed here with my daughter back in March 2016 whilst travelling around the North Island. We drove in from the East Coast and stayed overnight before moving on to Tokomaru Bay. The road into Waikaremoana was not sealed and care was required as there had been a heavy rainfall. We arrived just before reception was due to close but...

We arrived here on the first day of the year 2016. The road from Rotorua was long and in the end narrow and quite scary, but this holiday park was worth the trip. It is isolated in a way that is rare these days, for it has no decent 3G internet connection. This means that you can truly relax and...

Wasn't expecting either tbh, but just for people's info. Rented a holiday chalet for 5 for 100 dollars which was fair enough. Everything was OK apart from hot rings on microwave oven thing didn't get hot. Lots of building work going on, looked like an extension to site. Beware the road in, it's in a pretty poor condition.
