Only two couples there for two days. I went over to beat the heat from Chapala.it was off-season so we pretty much had the whole little village to our selves. Very relaxing, the pool was very nice because The surf was quite large. The temperature was quite hot but the breeze off the ocean kept us very comfortable.

I stayed here three nights, and here are my observations; Pros: 1) Very good location 2) Friendly staff 3) Decent WiFi in the the rooms that are close to the pool area 4) Nice beach set up, with easy entry for swimming at low tide 5) Very secure underground parking 6) Good dining room for breakfasts Cons: 1) Older, but... Alondra is a large hotel centrally located in Barra de Navidad; an older building a little away from the ocean, with the newer building across the street and directly on the beach. I stayed a few times in the older building only, where the rooms sleep 2 and are OK and the apartments sleep 4 and are spacious. For longer... More

Just stayed one night in this hotel. Our room was on beach side. We found it very clean. Bed was cement base so of course it was hard but survived our one night. Only draw back would be there is only patio door for ventilation so had to keep locked at night and found it to be very stuffy. Had... More

We headed to Hotel La Alondra for drinks with friends in their bar, Chicano's. The bar is located on the fourth floor and is in the perfect spot to watch the sunset in Barra. The drinks were very good and service was great however, you are really there to see the amazing sunset!

My wife and I checked into this hotel, without previous reservations, on our first night in Barra de Navidad, Mexico. This was during the off-season in September, with the town being pretty dead. In the first room they put us in, the air conditioner didn't work, and given it being so hot and humid, that really was a necessity. So... More

The price was OK for the room that we got, which was by the beach and 10 feet from the pool. The ocean view from the pool is amazing. The rooms, though, were very rustic, as is Mexican architecture. Everything is made of concrete, even the bed base and head board.

Beds were pretty hard. I changed rooms for a few bucks and the bed was a little softer. You can get a real nice view. Great view from up top. I looked at a room near the pool. It was more expensive and the bathroom had a sewer smell. So was happier on the othe side. Parking.
