Lovely location of this premier inn, friendly and welcoming lady on our arrival very helpful and on leaving a gentleman asked how our evening out was which was very pleasant. A comfortable bed and decent sized tv. Restaurant nearby as usual, warm room up to date heating, very comfortable overnight stay.

My wife and I like to travel around the uk at least one weekend every month if not more when we can seeing sites and shopping trips this weekend we stayed at the Warrington hotel to visit Liverpool 1 and the Arndale.
The hotel was pleasant clean and accommodating the staff were very friendly and helpful we ate at the hotel restaurant at dinner time and the series’s first class and the food was lovely we also paid for breakfast which was also lovely with lots of choices for any taste. We had a great trip and will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Warrington. Thanks again to the staff, from chris & vicky

Rooms are clean but not as modern as some of the other hotels in this brand. As a solo traveler there were only 2 towels in the bathroom, some PI leave 3 towels for solo travels which is much better, this might be something to consider.

As a solo traveler I was disappointed that your lone travel policy wasn’t followed and my room number was read out load

Hotel isn’t far from a church so you can hear church bells.

Went pub next door for evening meal and the food was lovely. This is where I had breakfast the next day, the toaster took ages to work and was faulty, the staff said they knew about this and had asked for a new one. Hot food isn’t buffet and is made to order which was a nice change.

This was the worst Premier Inn stay I have ever had. The room was so hot it was like sleeping in the centre of a volcano. The room was over 28 degrees the entire time despite it being in low 20’s outside, the window open (3 inches allowed) and the fan going all night.
I spent most of my time in the corridor or outside to cool down. I had to take cold showers to bare sleeping in the room throughout the night.
With 2 young kids the temperature made them unsettled and thirsty. We had to get drinks from the vending machine which was an eye watering over £2.20 a bottle, but needs must.
The TV volume was restricted so low we could not hear anything that was said especially with the fan going full blast all night.
We booked a table for breakfast the next morning in the attached pub for 10am to find that the Premier Inn breakfast ended at 9:45. This was not mentioned anywhere on the menu in the room so we left the hotel with empty tummies as well.
The worst night sleep ever! If you like sleeping in temperatures like the surface of the sun then this is the hotel for you. However if you like a comfortable night sleep and to be able to bare 10minutes in your room without needing a shower & drink, then book elsewhere

The lady on check in was lovely and friendly. Unfortunately I accidentally booked a accessible-room and when I walked in the curtains were closed and it felt very dated, dark and dingy. The bed was very uncomfortable, the bed sheets still felt very slightly damp and the noise of the footsteps from the room above is just loud enough to stop you from drifting off to sleep.

The pub next door had a good selection of food on the menu and as the weather was nice it was a great location to sit outside! The breakfast was mediocre, the coffee was undrinkable and the cooked breakfast was slightly oily. Unfortunately they did have some noisy construction work going on in the bar during breakfast, but I understand that this sometimes cannot be avoided.

Just another little minor inconvenience- there is not a plug socket next to the bed or near the bed at all. The only sockets are along the wall by the desk.

Overall, not enough to put me off premier inns and I would probably give this hotel another go if I was in the area for no more than one night, but would insist on an upstairs bedroom.

I booked two rooms for the night each for one adult and two children, on arrival we were told there was a £5 surcharge for one of the rooms and they didn’t know why but this needed to be paid now. Went to the rooms and found one only had a double bed set up. Went and spoke to them and they said they would get bed things and towels then brought them to the room and told us it was booked as a single. I showed them
The booking confirmation and they told me housekeeping must’ve got it wrong then!!
The other room the thermostat was set to 24 degrees when it was boiling outside as it was! Couldn’t turn it down so no one in that room got any sleep. Told them The next day and they just said it wasn’t broken it was supposed to be like that yet the other room was set at 21 and was fine. Went down for the pre paid breakfast (which I’d also had to book a table for separately for some weird reason) they said yes we’ve got you here then seated us. Breakfast was good but at the end they tried to charge us £60! I told them it was pre booked and paid for and they went and looked, then told me that was only for one - I said no it’s for two adults and Four under 16’s, which was paid for when I booked the hotel (under 16’s eat free with a full paying adult) they went and looked again and said oh yes two adults but it’s under 12’s eat free not under 16’s I said that’s not what it said when I booked it or on your menu so he went to read the menu and said oh yes they must have changed it! They just kept trying to charge me for things I shouldn’t need to pay, it’s a good job I’m vigilant with knowing what I should be paying or I could’ve lost out which I’m sure does happen to some people if they don’t check and just pay! Overall not a great experience at all. Nothing like other stays in premier inn I’ve had.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Warrington North East Hotel
Responded 26 May 2022
Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to the hot temperature of your room which caused an uncomfortable sleep. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. We're also sorry to hear about the payment issues, and your room not being set up properly on arrival. Sadly, not all of our hotels include air conditioning. In hotels which don't, our teams do try to make rooms more comfortable by providing fans and thinner sheets. We apologise if this did not help during your stay. If air conditioning is important when staying with us, we would suggest looking out for air conditioning as a listed facility on the hotel's page on our website before booking. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the team to try and prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Megan

I love Premier Inns because you know what you're going to get, give or take a few degrees of basic quality. There are several Premier Inns in Warrington and I liked the look of this one because it was a bit out of the town. The hotel itself hasn't had an upgrade, but it was very quiet and the staff were so good. What really lets this Premier Inn down however is the breakfast. That is one of the things that should be a guarantee – there's usually a Beefeater or similar attached, and the menu is exactly the same. The pub attached to this hotel was not a Beefeater. It appeared to be an independent and just didn't have the same professionalism, nor the same things you come to expect from a Premier Inn breakfast. Breakfast is only served until 9 on weekdays (10 on weekends), it is rushed, they only had sachets of instant coffee, they didn't have white bread on one of the mornings I was there, and the cook doesn't know how to prepare eggs without overdoing them. Worst of all, all the stacked plates and bowls were DIRTY at the flimsily-stocked buffet. Because of this, I would never stay here again. Shame, because the location was great and the staff really were lovely.

I have returned home from spending 2 nights at this hotel and I have to say that even with Covid the hotel was just as good as the last time I visited. The room was super clean and comfortable, the lady on reception that checked me in was possibly the friendliest reception lady I have ever come across, so lovely (can’t remember her name but she checked me in on Friday 31st July at like 4/5pm ish !) The only reason that I haven’t given it 5 stars , is due to the fact that I was woken up yesterday morning and again this morning by the cleaners talking rather loudly outside my room. I totally appreciate that they have a job to do and they are doing an excellent job under difficult times, but perhaps they should consider being mindful of the volume, especially whilst outside an occupied room.

We have stayed at this hotel before and its been very good, however there were a few things which spoiled it this time. The room on arrival was very cold with just one small heater in the corner, if staff know they have a guest in that room it would have been a nice touch to turn the temperature up prior to arrival especually as it was freezing outside. the thermostat did not stay on over night so it was cold on waking and there's no heat in the bathroom!! The hot water took forever to come through but the shower was great.
We did not get a good sleep due to the roll together in the bed and pillows either too soft or too hard., also didn't help with having what sounded like a herd of elephants walking around in the room upstairs, so much for the tiptoe policy!!
Could not mention anything on checkout as staff not available
Breakfast and dinner in the Swan pub next door was fab with very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.
Great location just off the M62 so very convenient for exploring Liverpool or Manchester

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby. The hotel is quite old fashioned but is clean and nicely decorated. There is no lift so if you have mobility issues or large cases, make sure you can get a ground floor room.

The reception desk is a little tatty and scruffy. However, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The front door shuts around 11pm so you need to buzz the desk to let you in.

The rooms are spacious and ours was very clean. Linens and bins are only sorted if you make an earlier request with reception staff so do not automatically expect your room to be cleaned every day.

Excellent car park. A very basic hotel but usually at a decent price if you just want to lay your head down.
