Skippy, we did not find premium liquor at the swim up bars or restaurants readily available. You will primarily only find it in the premium lounge. We upgraded and they "ran out" of our preferred brand of vodka in the premium lounge and they did not replace it during the time we were there. The upgrade did not give us any better room, maybe a better view - but how much time do you spend in the room. The upgraded mini bar consisted of a bag of M&M's and peanuts.
In our opinion don't upgrade, spend your money going across the street and eat dinner in the restaurants there instead of upgrading. You will probably come out ahead and will enjoy much better food. And no, you cannot use the resort coupons to upgrade upon your arrival. Those resort coupons will usually only purchase dinners on the beach, spa services, bottles of wine, etc. And usually only a portion can be used at a time. Such as, $20.00 off of a $100.00 spa service or massage
, 40.00 towards a $100.00 dinner on the beach, etc.
