My wife and I enjoyed our stay with Philippe and Ruth. Philippe welcomed us, assisted in our check-in, hosted dinner for fourteen, keeping everyone involved despite the fact that there were three languages being spoken. The following night, he provided an excellent restaurant recommendation. Great hospitality, nice accommodations , an enjoyable stay. We hope to return.

Excellent hotel with entertaining chef proprietor and lovely wife and family. Personal rugby memorobilia on walls and spacious high ceilinged rooms and plenty of manicured gardens, shaded games area and peaceful pool and pond. What more could you want but there is close proximity to villages and the urban Biarritz and its fabulous beach too. Great place to stay.

We spent 4 nights in the top floor of this lovely 3-story renovated farmhouse. It was well-located and easy to get to local sights, towns, beaches in both France and Spain - the perfect base for touring the Basque region. Pretty grounds with a nice pool. We enjoyed 2 dinners hosted by Philippe, our engaging and welcoming landlord, which offered...

Philippe and his beautiful wife Ruth made us feel welcome and 'at home' from the moment we arrived. We stayed here for three nights in a very large room with a four-poster bed and glorious views. There are extensive grounds, a lake and a lovely swimming pool. Breakfast is taken together with the other guests and Philippe cooks excellent evening...

Warm and welcoming hosts. Large and clean rooms. - The host, Philippe, is a great character and never shy of saying what he thinks. You might disagree but he is great fun to be around with. He also tells you about the secret spots in the Basque region, restaurants, golf, walking areas. Discussions around the table are lively and interesting....

This was an outstandingly friendly and hospitable visit. The house is a typical Basque manor house with a swimming pool, park and ornamental lake. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-fitted with four-poster beds, and the hosts, Philippe and Ruth, provide a warm welcome and helpful tourist advice with generous set meals three times a week. It's an ideal base...

Good food and company. Good facilities - swimming pool, lake and fountain, games room and extensive grounds. Very peaceful location, but easy drive to Biarritz. Clean and tidy room in converted barn adjacent to house. Suitable for self catering if required.

This house is full of character with large rooms and four poster beds. It has a lake and a swimming pool and indoor and outdoor games - billiards, table tennis, etc. Perfect location for exploring the mountains. We will go back.

We had a great time at Domaine Silencenia. The property has plenty of character and charm, our room was very spacious and comfortable and the extensive grounds with lake, swans and pool were perfect for an evening stroll and even a little picnic! Philippe was a wonderful host- a real character. We loved his English with a French accent. He...
