Stayed in the Royalist Suite recently, very well equipped self-catering accommodation which was a short walk into the village of Orton. Lovely room and extensive grounds. Would highly recommend. Used as a base for some great walks in the Lakes over a long weekend.

My 4 nights in the Naseby suite were so enjoyable I hope to return some day. The perfect genuinely old property in a perfect village in a very beautiful corner of England. I couldn't fault it. I particularly appreciated the views through the mullioned windows across the lawns.

We stayed in the naseby suite, it's the second time we've stayed here (first was in clarendon suite). The suite again was virtually spotless, credit to the cleaner again, the only thing we found was the hot tap was loose, which if I'd of had a spanner I'd of tightened myself. For meals you can't beat " the black Swan"...

Pleasant compact apartment in a converted hall. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable with the fold down bed for three of us. Good access to the Eastern edge of the Lake District and the M6. A great moment playing pool in the shared lounge area.

FOund this place online and decided to try it out as was looking for lakes accomodation but had never been to the part before. The property had the feel and the oldy smell of a national trust property, im sure over the years it could tell some stories. The apartment was of a good size and had all we needed....

The manor itself is beautiful with dark oak panelled walls with comfortable seating in the great hall for anyone to relax and enjoy. The royalist suite had everything we needed and...

Great location, short walk to pub. Nice grounds. Communal areas were great, pool table - free to use. We stayed in Royalist Suite, living room with dining area was amazing, oak panelling/lovely fireplace (secret bookcase door to bedroom). Bedroom/kitchen/bathroom could do with updating but overall fantastic! Kitchen very well equipped. Good to have free access to North Lakes Spa, nice...

Used this hotel for 2 nights whilst on business in City. I was very impressed generally and had a lovely spacious room. Breakfast was of a good standard and all staff very helpful and friendly. Small negative was noise of next rooms tv. However this was not late...merely the fact that I needed an early night. I ate in the...

We stayed in the Clarendon Suite for a weekend in September 2014. Even before arrival, Stephanie was very polite and quick to reply to emails and queries. The Hall itself is magnificent, with wanders around the garden a real delight. The suite had one large living room with a table overlooking the front of the building, a long bathroom featuring...
