This was a really nice place to stay overnight on the way up to Scotland. It was small, quite and cozy. The food was also really nice aswell. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay over in the Lake District.

Recently stayed at the hotel for only one night. We arrived around 8.30pm and was shown to our room by the landlady and shown the information pack. We then ate in the pub, which was lovely food and quick service for a Saturday night. The room was good, and the whole place was very clean including the whole pub. The...

Used The Head as a stop over on route to Edinburgh. Made to feel very welcome by David and Elizabeth. Great food, family room clean and comfortable, loved watching all the wild birds in the garden. Highly recommended accommodation, would certainly stay here again given the opportunity. Thanks again Dee and Trevor

A great place to stop if you want to get out into the fells and do some walking. Liz was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble, and the food was great. A full English breakfast was the perfect start to the day, and a welcoming log fire to return to and a few drinks after a days walking....

It was great staying in the rooms at the back of the Head over looking the garden particularly as we had our dog with us. On the Friday night we enjoyed the music session and...

I booked into The Head at Middleton to put my husband off the scent for where we were going for his birthday - what a treat it turned out to be! The rooms are behind the pub facing onto a garden. We had our own front door and patio area, the room was big, warm and comfortable with a lovely...

We received a warm and attentive service. The room was on the small side but it was very clean, with all amenities. It was private and overlooked a garden area. The full breakfast was very good. and the bar had a good atmosphere. It is a good base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside and the towns of Kirkby Lonsdale,...

Sorry you feel this way, this is not a complaint we've heard before. The standard double bed is the usual 4ft 6 in x 6ft 6 in and the two singles are generous 3ft x 6ft 6 in. All with luxurious toppers to ensure a comfortable nights sleep. The shower room is spacious and dimensions can be viewed on our...
