Beautiful , centrally located not new but charmingly warm and old Spanish. 2 restaurants in the hotel, both provide broad menus , fresh choices .. service perfect. A pool on the lush grounds . Bar areas in newly renovated open foyer area I will stay again Walking distance to Durangos sights !!!

The lobby and patio are lovely, and there are two decent restaurants, one posher than the other. The rooms look a bit old-fashioned/ spartan in comparison, but the bed was comfortable, and the facilities acceptable though slightly ageing. I'd be happy to go back.

The place is beautiful, it's a large hotel in a historical building with a central garden with swimming pool, in the center of Durango. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. However, the service is extremely slow and unreliable, at both the reception and breakfast.

This hotel is in the heart of the city, close to the cathedral and walking distance to the plaza.. Absolutely gorgeous property. Helpful and bilingual front desk personnel. This is my second time staying at the Hotel Gobernador. I have business in the Durango area. I will definitely stay here every time. The staff is great and the rooms are very nice. The hotel is an old prison that has been renovated. It is quite spectacular inside and out. The restaurant La Hacienda has the best Cadillo de...

This was our first trip to Mexico outside of a resort. The friend we were visiting recommended this hotel and we were very pleased. Service was excellent, grounds were spotless, and the food in the restaurants was excellent. Since we were tourists on this visit, the location was perfect...walking distance to everything in the city center.

Lovely hotel with impeccable service. The food was excellent in all the restaurants, and the staff was more than accommodating in helping with our language barrier. Very safe, very elegant hotel. The bar in the lobby is fabulous with excellent drinks and entertainment in the evenings. The courtyard around the pool is beautiful with lush gardens. Top notch!!

This was our first, of what will be many, visits to Durango, Mexico. The hotel was very nice and I imagine it is the best in town. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Fresh bottled water was supplied every day, as well as coffee service. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Excellent location too.
