Nestled in a picturesque spot near Puerto Vallarta, Grand Luxxe At Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is celebrated for its luxurious and spacious accommodations and its vibrant atmosphere, replete with lively music and entertainment, though the volume may be too much for some. While the resort's cleanliness and meticulous grounds receive accolades, issues with room maintenance and the occasional cleanliness hiccup have been called out. Service quality appears to vary, with guests experiencing both attentive care and frustrating delays.
The extensive amenities, including pools and dining, are popular, but some guests warn of high prices and limited access. Despite its beauty, many feel the resort's value is diminished by overpricing and aggressive sales pitches.

Hello,
We stayed at the Vidanta (Grand Luxxe) from 4 Jan to 29 Feb 20. I will add to this review once I get home.
First: recognition for two people that provided excellent service during our stay - Diego Macias (our concierge) and Ana Villalpundo (at the roof top pool).
Second: I have uploaded nine quick pictures of the room at a lower resolution as I am using hotel WiFi.
The Vidanta properties are ranked depending upon the building, which is important as the rooms/amenities can vary greatly. The lowest rung is the Mayan Palace, then Grand Mayan, then Grand Bliss, then Grand Luxxe (villas, lofts) and the new Estates.
We stayed at the Grand Luxxe Loft in Tower 5, which has the pool on the rooftop (tenth floor).
The room is for two people and very spacious (approx 44' x 18' with very high ceiling with accent lights). The deck is small and contains two chairs, end table and a four foot diameter cooling pool that is unheated. The included picture is from the seventh floor.
The kitchen has a small bar fridge, two burner induction counter top element and microwave. The dining area has a small circular table with four seats. Along the edge of the dining area are two couches.
Since this is a loft, there is no separate bedroom as the king sized bed is up two steps from the dining area. There is a pillow menu and a selection of pillows. There are two TVs (wall mounted) in the room.
There are two bathrooms: one for guests and the main bathroom. The main contains two sinks, large six foot square shower, toilet and large soaker tub.
The decor is modern and in good shape as Tower 5 is one of the newer buildings (with Tower 1 being almost 10 years old).
Also, the pool is located on the rooftop (10 th floor) and includes a restaurant (Quinte) and bar. Seating is limited so you will have to arrive early to get a good seat. The views are excellent.

Owner Updates. Do not go. They are sales presentations. Issues that are promised but are not part of the contract:
1. Grand Luxxe owners are NOT guaranteed an ocean view room if staying at the Grand Mayan.
2. Grand Luxxe owners staying at the Grand Mayan are not allowed to use the Grand Luxxe pools. If you pay the maintenance fee for your Grand Luxxe room while staying at the Grand Mayan you are getting the Luxxe benefits of massage and golf but that does not guarantee a wrist band to use the Grand Luxxe or Grand Bliss pools. This is an exception granted by the hotels if they wish to.
3. When staying at the Grand Luxxe the Grand Bliss and Grand Mayn will allow you to use those pools but they do not have to just because you are a Grand Luxxe owner.

This hotel really caters to their guests and the workers are sincerely nice people. The grounds are incredible and some good restaurants on site. The down side is the additional $350 I had to pay booking with my Interval time share plus they harass you nonstop to purchase into their time share. I already have a time share with them but wasn't able to book with them because they were sold out. When you get your room just unplug the phones right away or else expect one or two calls a day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in a 2 bedroom unit of the Grand Luxxe. We were in Tower 6 which is a long distance from the beach. However we were aware of the distance and are able to walk. If you are staying at such a large resort you should expect the distances between buildings, there are shuttles and the wait time was acceptable. The property is exceptionally well maintained. We did have a few difficulties with our unit but received immediate attention to them. We had a concierge on our floor, Bruno, he was fabulous! He met all of our needs and had excellent recommendations. His ability to speak Spanish and English made communication very easy. He made all calls that we requested and was able to easily translate for us. We did the Thursday evening Fiesta on the beach. It was a lot of fun, great entertainment. The food was adequate but abundant. If you are looking for good quality food keep in mind that this is a Mexican buffet, you would be better off at one of the restaurants. However it is plentiful and you will find something. As for the drinks, there is no problem getting one and the choice is endless. The breakfast buffets on property have much better quality and I would highly recommend either location for one. I travel a lot and this is always a high point. We all love the country, this area, this resort and the people. Our biggest complaint was that the time went too quickly.

The facilities here are top notch. Spacious rooms with beautiful decorations and design make it even more pleasing to be in the room. The concierge for our floor, Diego Macias, was extremely attentive and checked on us every day to make sure everything was fine in the room. Fresh coffee in the lobby of our floor was a nice touch since I could just walk a few steps out of my room to get a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

We took our family including seven adults, three teenagers, a three-year-old, and two babies. There were several food allergies and intolerances in our group. Each restaurant we went to made an effort to provide contamination free gluten free food, which was a relief to our adult children.
The New Year’s Eve party was wonderful. Special thank you to Erick Rodriguez, Manager of Quinto on top of tower 5 for making a big effort to look after all of our special needs.
Other special mentions for exceptional, kind and thoughtful Service:
—Estaban Baltazar, concierge, no request was too big for him
—Diego, concierge, for special effort to make a series of last minute dinner reservations for a large group with special needs
—Daniel, waiter at Tower 5 pool — we were always well looked after for food and drinks
—Antonio (Juan), waiter at Fresh Co — he remembered us from previous trips and continued to take excellent care of us.
—Rodolpho Vasquez Castillo — for wrangling our umbrella at the tower 5 Pool
Also a special thank you to housekeepers Concepcion (day), and Laura (evening) for keeping our space beautiful despite lots of people coming and going. The Joy Squad was also very friendly and fun.
Overall, everyone at Vidanta treated us well. We can’t wait to come back.

We have been at Grand Lux for a week. It’s a very large resort, but the Vidanta organization has done everything to help us find our way, and enrich our experience. There is an organized trolly system run on rechargeable batteries, which added to the cleanliness.
Our room is very large, and has all of the amenities to keep us comfortable. Tower 5 is the furthest from the beach, but it’s very quiet, and peaceful. There is a beautiful pool, and restaurant, rooftop. You can order lunch and beverages from a server who is very attentive.
The property is pristine, with many gardeners working to keep it that way.
Every restaurant we tried was very good, but we especially enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass at Gong. Service was always good, across all settings.
Our floor concierge, Diego Macias was key to our enjoyment. Greeted each morning with a warm smile, eager to answer any question, and secure reservations.
Checkout was streamlined and seamless. Main lobby concierge, Daniel was especially helpful when he learned we were leaving so early, arranged assistance to get us where we need to be on time!
Service and gratitude is what I’ll remember about this venue, as every employee puts a hand over their heart, as they greet you with a smile, and say “Hola’”.

This was our third trip to The Grand Luxxe at Nuevo Vallarta. A lot of restaurants were closed due to COVID and being a low time of year (rainy season). However, some opened up two days ago in preparation for the influx for Mexican Independence Day.
Never did we feel unsafe. The staff cleans CONSTANTLY. They wipe off all seats and handrails when someone gets off of the shuttles. There are chimes that go off every 15 minutes or so in the restaurants, which signal that it is time for the staff to disinfect their hands using the gel bottles that they keep in their belts. The tables are spaced out, and the whole resort is only allowing 30% capacity. The water park at the Grand Mayan is still open. There is a ton of construction going on on the beach, so much of the resort is offline, including the Luxxe Spa (though Brio is open), Ameca Social House, Havana Moon, and the giant beachfront pool with the spray cannon in the middle. Despite this, we still have plenty to do and eat in seven days of not leaving the property.
The gondola is up and running, though it won't be open to ride until the winter. We got to tour the grounds for the Parks, and they're making progress. (reported opening in 18 months).
Once all of the renovations are complete (the fact that they are renovating in the midst of the pandemic tells you that the company is still growing), it's going to be worth six stars.

We have been coming to this site since 2002. First the good things: The hotel staff and Joy Squad are great. Sanitation is top notch with all staff masked at all times, bells to alert staff to sanitize hands every 15 minutes and golf carts sanitized before every trip. Beach is nice and restaurants are great.
The rooms must have been closed during the shut down. Our first room was riddled with mold. After multiple tries to fix it over several days, we finally got a new room.
We arrived on Dec 5, 2020. Many of the pathways to the beach were closed for construction and did not open until after Dec 12. The former Luxxe adult pool is now reserved exclusively for new Estates members and we were chased away although no one was ever there. There were no beach chairs the week of Dec 12 except at Grand Mayan.
They have built an new area called "Beachland" around the old Mayan Palace Pool. While lovely, it did not open until Dec 12 and the pool was contaminated and closed until Dec 18.
Havana Mood restaurant is gutted. There is a new palapa behind it as a stop for an overhead gondola named "SKYDREAM" that runs from the beach all the way to the highway. It ran in test the 2 weeks we were there but was not open. We heard that the round trip tool 45 minutes. The towers supporting this are ugly.
Many of the waterways on the resort are drained for maintenance.
The sales staff is aggressive as ever. We refused to attend the "owners briefing" although it took 20 minutes at check in and 3 follow up phone calls to escape. Based on pool discussions, they are still selling "Kingdom of the Sun" - still not open after 6 years of selling, The new "Estates" being built on the other side of the River Cualle and they are advertising that they are converting Grand Mayan towers to Grand Luxxe units (squeezing out Grand Mayan members). The trade up selling continues, squeezing out those at the low end of the resort and adding even more expensive stuff at the top.
Stay away from the sales staff!!

We go to this resort annually and enjoy ourselves each time. The resort is beautiful and well kept, always a joy to ride around in a golf cart and enjoy the beauty. The pool and restaurant staff, to include Joy Club are excellent. When you reserve, even as an owner they cant seem to get the bed you need or let you reserve the one you want. I requested a king, ended up with two doubles or queens, could tell as they were small. TIMESHARE BEWARE - they are relentless about selling timeshares. A lot of unhappy people at the pool talking about how they have been taken by the purchase of a very expensive timeshare and how every year they get threatened to upgrade. They called out phone 13 times trying to get us to a sales pitch and we were just there Sept 19. Remain firm and just say no. The usage fee is well worth the week. The money you spend up front is very expensive to earn the privilege of being an "Owner". Just use RCI or VRBO to stay, it is cheaper and easier to do. We are bought in, and will go annually. A little worried about all the towers and rides being installed for Celebration that is two years behind, i hope it doesn't ruin the ambiance of the resort.

Not in the units but laundry is available on each floor. You'll need to buy laundry cards at the concierge located on the first floor of each building. The laundry card provides for the laundry detergent and, of course, the dryer.
