Let me start by saying I'm not at all fussy, and I'll also say I have been to the Devonshire arms before and had a pleasant experience...but I have never been so disappointed by a meal in my life. We had my family up to visit to celebrate finding out we were having our first child. I booked well in... More

This is our second visit staying in the cowslip room which is located on the first floor of the cottages opposite the pub. Food is excellent however you need to book especially eating in the bar area, not much room to stand or sit with a room. Easy reach of the Chatsworth estate and a 20 min walk across the... More

We stayed for one night whilst visiting chatsworth house and the Christmas markets. The service from the hotel staff was exceptional, they couldn't of helped you more and the attention to tradition was charming. The rooms were beautifully decorated (our party stayed in 3 separate rooms) and the beds are one of the comfiest I've stayed in, very cosy. The... More

We have visited many times over the years and always enjoyed our stay, be it a lunchtime snack, a quick or lingering pint or an evening meal. This was no exception. We chose to eat here during a trip to Chatsworth Christmas market. Our meal was gorgeous. We both had fish, which was beautiful, triple cooked chips devine, and the... More

Called in for lunch on a Saturday. Nice room. Got menus but there wasn't a lot of choice. £15 for a smallish portion of fish and chips (that was supposed to be the large portion). Nice puddings but again very expensive. This really is a place for special occasions only, not somewhere to pop in for lunch.

Came here with my sister for some lunch as she had come before and had raved about it. We asked the waitress (who frankly looked like she would rather be anywhere else) if there were any vegan options available, to which she said yes... no options were offered. Firstly, I never turn up to restaurants and demand vegan options, I... More

Visited with my wife and 1 year old daughter. Went for set menu 3 courses for £20 which was very tasty and good value (sardines/beef pate, sea bass, cheddar/choc brownie) Beer was also good. Lovely smart and friendly gastropub. Very welcoming for my young daughter and helpful with high chair, heating food etc
