The most disappointing afternoon tea I have ever experienced. Scones which resembled rock cakes and crumbled so that it was impossible to spread the jam and cream although we did attempt this and discovered that the jam was a flavourless red jelly. Just one piece of cake on the stand which was verging on stale, one shortbread biscuit so hard...

Sway is an utterly nondescript township on the borders of the New Forest, doubtless a pleasant enough place to live, quiet, but with no distinguishing features whatsoever: no nightlife beyond a pub, no views, no scenic walks - or none close by - a railway station but no petrol station. Having negotiated some narrow lanes it is a convenient base...

We were given a voucher and stayed last night. We received a warm welcome and had a delightful stay. Having booked, I re-read the reviews and was slightly concerned by the poorer ones but do not be put off, the dinner was lovely, the portions looked small but after 5 courses we felt well fed. One of the criticisms in...

The small Manor House offers nothing else than a quiet place to pop your head down really . Overpriced and overrated itself but offers low standard unprofessional food which seems like a novice cook that is having a failing attempt at a la carte and taster menus . .......Tea and cake consists of a bit of over dry badly cooked...

We were recommended this hotel for lunch. We arrived just before 12-00 noon and asked if could have lunch. It was greeted with some surprise and were asked if we had vouchers. The receptionist asked a very casually dressed man if "two walk in could have lunch?" We were looked up and down, we were on our way to a...

We stayed here on a deal which included tea and cake on arrival and a 5 course tasting menu. The hotel has been refurbished in a lovely style and we sat enjoying our tea, overlooking the garden and bathed in sunlight. (Let's not mention the 1 inch square of cake!) The tasting menu was entirely to our taste and each...

Have been awake since 4.30 in the morning because the heating has come on and is making so much noise plus i thought it must be time to wake up because it is so light in the room, look out of the window to see why it is so light and there's a security light trained on our window (...

We had a pleasant overnight stay at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming & the food was extremely good apart from the cake on arrival which was dry & hard. Overall a good base from which to explore the New Forest.

My partner took me here to celebrate my birthday, what a great hotel, met at the door by friendly receptionist, who booked us in and showed us all the to the top floor to our room, #11, a sizeable room with a lovely view over the gardens, and the sun was shining to. She gave us the info we needed,...

Lovely decor and friendly staff let down by poor food. The soup was luke warm and tasted like a flavoured bowl of cream. The chicken did not appear to be cooked although the hake was delicious but the portion so small you were starving! The waiter replaced the soup with another starter and agreed it was not good. The chef...
