A little more than an easy 4 hour drive from Edmonton. We arrive at our cabin - East Pine! It’s a self check in system - the welcome board of the cabin has our name and the key. It’s warm and cozy!

We had the best 1 night stay here and would highly recommend it for the rustic and authentic experience alone, and that’s before I mention the fabulous food which was delivered to our cabin, as the restaurant was unfortunately fully booked. The cabins are comfortable, clean and we had a great nights sleep. Enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast and thank you to the wonderful and helpful staff, including the talent in the kitchen. Our dinner was the best of our 2.5 week stay in Canada.

Situated approx 30 mins drive from Banff centre my wife and I had a wonderful three night stay here. The cabins are so cozy and nestled in woodland, hardly noticed the traffic from the road. The restaurant food was exceptional and tea and coffee available all day. No hesitation in recommending this place.

Lovely historic cabins, clean, cozy, and comfortable. Working wood-burning fireplaces in each cabin are all set for you to light when you arrive. Each cabin also has a heater that easily keeps you cozy on cold nights. The windows open to allow breezes when it is warm out (they can be a bit sticky; they are over 100 years old, after all) . The floors are a bit creaky, and the bathrooms are not large, so if you are looking for a bright, modern room with a spacious double-sink bathroom, this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a cozy, atmospheric cabin where you can relax and enjoy your natural surroundings, give this a try. The food is also exceptional, with excellent service and good value.

We arrived on a wet, moody day, and this was just perfect atmosphere for our cabin. It’s a cosy feel, and the fire is just perfect. We fell asleep to the sound of the rain and the cracking fire, in a cosy bed. If you don’t light the fire, there is a powerful heater in the cabin too. The shower was lovely and hot. The cabins are beautiful, and although sticking to their history & authenticity, i do feel that because they don’t have any cooking facilities (or even tea/coffee facilities) that the price should include some form of breakfast, wether it’s continental, or even a small hamper with cereal bars etc in. Because it’s so isolated, if you don’t pay and eat on site, there are no other options, other than driving 25/30+ minutes to Banff. We ate on site on our first night (2nd night we drove into Banff) and the food was just amazing on site. Portion sizes are small, but amazing quality! There was minimal noise from the highway on our first night, but the rain was also lovely & loud on the roof so did drown it out. But our 2nd night it was really quite loud and it did take me a while to get to sleep due to the road noise. I was woken up at 5am due to a delivery truck reversing into the property and beeping loudly, so the sleep on the 2nd night was quite disturbed by traffic. I would 100% return, but if staying for longer than 1 night I would recommend bringing some snacks etc to have for breakfast as there’s nowhere around to go out and quickly pick items up. …

My husband and I spent two nights in one of the cabins here (our third visit) in March. We love the simplicity of the log cabin with wood burning fireplace and the coziness of the main lodge. Our dinners were fantastic each evening and wonderful service. The staff were friendly and very hard working. We were especially impressed to hear that they were short a chef so the manager was acting as sous chef. Everything we ate was presented beautifully and with great flavour. The Irish girl working there was especially warm and made the experience even nicer. We were even treated to a beautiful show of the Aurora Borealis in the sky above all night long.

We've stayed here probably 6 or 7 times over the last 15 years, this was our 1st stay since it has new owners, and so we weren't sure if it would affect our stay. 1st you can hear the traffic on the highway, and if you check the website it does mention this, we put on a little background music and it really helps, but the cabins themselves are cozy and with an evening fire in the fireplace ,very beautiful, the hot water supply is a little spotty, but not a deal breaker for me, and now the best part is the dining, it is expensive but it's also high end quality dining, I heard the chef was new ( not sure if this was true ) but our meal was great, we had mushroom toast and baked brie to start , and rack of lamb and pork chop for mains, everything was very nicely done! As for our server she was very accommodating. We hope the quality continues, also hoping they bring back the sit down breakfast as it was always a treat. We were celebrating our anniversary and we hope to come back for another special occasion, which in my view is what this place is all about…

First thing I want to say that stands out: OVER. PRICED. We were looking forward to this weekend since the start of Covid. I fully understand that these cabins are meant to feel rustic and true to their original build - but man, some things just need to be updated regardless. Since highway 1 was closed, more traffic was coming up and down highway 93 - Storm Lodge should be offering reduced rates. You can see and hear the highway from any where you are in the “resort”. I was so disappointed I didn’t even stay for the second night and left early afternoon of our second day. For 400$, I will never be returning here. There are better cabins in the area that are quieter, cheaper and nicer. Ridiculously over priced. Oh… bring your own fire starters - the ones provided were terrible

Storm Mountain Lodge is a delightful little property. The lodge is 100 years old and still holds its charm. We stayed for a couple nights and were treated with excellent customer service. The food at the restaurant is delicious and has such unique flavors to every dish. Be prepared to disconnect, with no wifi or full service but that is apart of the experience.

Very quaint old fashioned little lodges and a wonderful restaurant. We ate dinner there one night and it was right up there with one of the best meals of our 3 week holiday. Only negative comment is as others have said, the location is right on the main road. 100 years ago when the lodges were first built this of course wouldn’t have made much noise but now you can hear the lorries from inside. However it did not detract from our stay. Free hot drinks is a bonus, lovely staff and it’s great so many ingredients are locally sourced, a fact the team are very proud of.
