Well maintained hotel with a well known location. We did not get a lake view room, however the mountain view still gets you beautiful sunrises. Close to ski resort (5-10 minutes drive). Restaurant priced OL with great Fairmont Gold lounge.

Banff has a lot more dining choices if you stay in town. Fairmont Banff is a short drive but a long way to walk to town. If you stay at Lake Louise, choose Fairmont as the views are just magnificent. There are several walks around the lake. There are quite a few restaurants in the hotel itself from casual to fine dining. The town area is not as nice as Banff and restaurants are rather limited. We stayed at Banff for three nights and two nights stay at Fairmont Lake Louise and we thought that was a good decision.
