If you have business on the University of Calgary campus, this is the place to stay. The modern rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The breakfast is very basic - one form of eggs, carbs (bread, bagels and pastries), yogurt and muesli/granola). The coffee is strong. So the weakest suit of the Alma is the food selection / restaurant. Clearly...

fairly modern hotel , clean and comfortable rooms but a little dark inside with too much brown and greys. Breakfast is very poor with a minimal choice of offerings, yoghurt, bread , jam , buns. Difficult to get anywhere if you havent got a car, nearest restaurants are a walk away. Calgary C train is a walk away as well...

I love Hotel Alma. My room was modern, crisp and clean. The staff very friendly and always ready to help. I enjoyed a few meals at the hotel restaurant called the "Bistro Alma" and they were all delicious. The hotel is located near the University of Calgary, close to main roads, city transit and is a convenient place to stay...

I was a visiting professor and stayed for 3 weeks in a suite. Staff are amazing, rooms are clean and a good size. Internet is good and the continental breakfast is also good. The TV screens in my room (there were 2) was slightly fuzzy and hard on the eyes. The windows are single glazed and allow outside noise into...

We stayed here for a conference, I was facilitating sessions and I have to say the conference staff and all the service staff were excellent. The rooms however, were horrible. Paper thin walls - I could literally hear every word of my neighbours conversation with her husband at 11PM one night from my bed. The bed which had some sort...

After reading some negative reviews ,I was concerned about my stay here. Not what we experienced -a professional friendly check -in -speedy, no issues. Our room was on 7th floor with a sitting area and separated bedroom. Clean room and fresh linens daily. No noise at night ,we both slept well. Parking is extra but no issues and the hotel...

I stayed at Hotel Alma while speaking at an event at the University. I didn't have the same trouble finding it as others have had, as my taxi driver knew where to drop me off. The hotel is dingy and seems old despite the bits of colour here and there. Was it an old student residence converted to a hotel??...

Hello Sharimck, Thank you for commenting on your recent stay with us. Hotel Alma is actually only 7 years old and, although we have student accommodation within the building, the hotel rooms have never been used as residence. We apologize that you found the room rather small for your stay. We might suggest booking a One Bedroom suite on your...

I haven't worked in a hotel for bery long but there are a few things my manager always stresses about and this hotel was lacking them all. You can't really blame the hotel for location but you can at least put up some signs like "Hotel Alma ->". I couldn't find the hotel and due to it being thanksgiving weekend,...

Do not stay here if you can find somewhere else! I was in the process of moving and on a 4,000 mile drive with a 26' Uhaul truck towing my vehicle when I decided to book this hotel. Upon arriving I could not fit in there garage obviously, so they told me I could park across the street in another...

This hotel has definitely been created to support the University's conferencing trade. The rooms are very small, functional, but clean. There is so limited space in the room it was hard to find somewhere to open my suitcase - I had to settle for in front of the door, which was probably a bit of a fire hazard. Probably the...
