The Ship Ahoy Motel isn't fancy - the rooms are basic, the grounds aren't photogenic, and to make a reservation you have to mail them a check. But if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay on Southport Island then this is just about your best option. Close to everything you want, at half the price of your...

We have been coming for several years and always want to stay longer when it is time to leave. We really enjoy the private balcony to sit and watch the lobster boats and the tide come in and go back out. The Robinson's Wharf is a short walk away, it has a restaurant, lounge and a fish market and will...

Ships Ahoy Motel I had called a few days in advance to make a reservation, I asked the lady on the phone if she wanted my credit card over the phone, no, “I’ll take it upon arrival,” she asked for the reservation name, I provided my husbands first and last name and my cellular number. On 9 October 2016, we...

We have been coming to Ship Ahoy for 5 years and love it. Parents came to Ship Ahoy for 20 years and are the reason we first came. Room is ideal. Clean and airy. Well located close to the water. View is unmatched. Owners of Ship Ahoy are super people who are glad to see you each year. Motel is...

A clean, basic room.Very friendly staff. It was a quiet location. You go there for the view, not the amenities. Enjoy some carry out on the balcony and relax. A great value, that i like to think attracts like minded visitors.

I have stayed at the Ship Ahoy on 4 visits to Booth Bay. Its a short drive into town. As you wait for the old swing bridge to go through the motions of letting the sailboats pass, you have a few minutes to admire the gorgeous homes along the banks. The hotel is old and has nothing special except the...

The location was great. The motel has rooms on the water and a strip of rooms near the road. I was in a room by the road. Naugahyde and knotty pine. Very noisy with wooden boardwalk and late nite arrivals. No black out curtains on the door and outside lights on all nite. All rooms are supposed to be non...

This is a basic motel without all of the frills, but at an excellent price. The view from our room was spectacular and I loved sitting on their private dock. On our last day I saw two seals at sunrise. The owner stayed late on a Saturday evening to check us in and everybody was very friendly and pleasant. I...

A dear friend and I stayed here for 4 nights the end of June. It was so quiet and beautiful. Yes the room was basic but very clean. I brought a small coffeemaker and hair dryer along. As we were there to relax it was very nice. If you are looking for a basic place to sleep and relax, I...

Location, views and proximity to harbor is unmatched. As other reviewers note, this hotel has basic amenities and low overhead making it very affordable. Our extended family has been coming here for years and the "retro-experience" is part of what we look forward to. If you are looking for a 4 Seasons Resort type experience, this is not for you....
