This was our second visit to Ocean Gate Resort, where we vacationed last year. This time we selected a different pet-friendly room in one of their two Overlook Buildings. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased by our choice. Room 202 was a small, comfortably-sized apartment with full kitchen, separate living room, bedroom and large deck. The flooring throughout appeared to...

We were a bit concerned upon our initial arrival when the turnoff to the "resort" had us quickly driving down a single lane dirt/gravel road. Our room however was very nice -- we had an overlook room which is a loft type room with two sleeping areas. The deck from our room afforded a wonderful view of the harbor --...

Just returned from three nights at Ocean Gate. It's a five minute drive from Boothbay Harbor, but worlds away from the busy tourist town. The views are sensational, the spacious rooms are well designed with private terraces overlooking the bay, and the bed was very comfortable. There's a complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. The staff was very helpful, giving...

The scenery is fantastic. We had a 2nd floor room with balcony with a fantastic view of the water, trees, lobster boats and ospreys. The kids loved the kayaking, mini golf and pool. It was like being at camp, just a whole lot better. Breakfast was excellent with sausage, eggs, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juices, teas, milk, ..... The resort is...

The place is at the right spot of BoothBay Harbor, right in the middle of thick wood, right by water and picturesque surroundings. As if we entered the land of hobbits. We enjoyed jogging 6 in the morning together with squirrels, had a swim before breakfast, relaxed at the resort gardens. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. This is...

The resort is quiet, off the beaten path but close enough to town so as not to be a hassle getting around. Resort includes canoes, swimming pool, mini golf, ping pong... It is a beautiful setting in a cove nestled in the woods. It has a rustic flair to it, and it would be great for a multi night stay...

My wife and I spent a week at this resort-Bernie-Frank and the rest of the staff was very accommodating. Free breakfast it would easily cost $30.00 anywhere else. The rooms were clean, the view to the harbor awesome-pools Kayaks canoes, tennis courts, what else could you ask for. We will be back in the fall. Karen & Flip

I was not sure about the place when I booked it. But the reservation staff was more than accommodating with my requests. It was a long drive and the weather was pretty bad in the weekend. We were still able to see the ocean from our balcony despite the heavy fog. It's not a 5-star hotel but it was like...
