The positives: the front desk staff are helpful and polite (when they are there). The gentleman who runs the courtyard cafe affiliated with the hotel is lovely, and the breakfast included is appreciated. The not so positives: is the hotel in pretty rough shape, the hallway constantly smells like fish, and there is only ever one employee who seems to do all of the jobs (this results in a lot of waiting around at an empty front desk for help)? Yes. Could we have overlooked all of this? Also yes. We are by no means picky people and all we ask for is a clean bed. Unfortunately, when I pulled back the covers on the first night, I saw several blood stains on the sheets. After being told that “sometimes the sheets are stained” (Why wouldn’t housekeeping just NOT reuse those then?) I insisted on getting a change of sheets to do myself, as I did not wish to wait until the following day for housekeeping as suggested. Upon taking off the blood stained sheets, there was a matching blood stain on the mattress “cover” underneath. This clearly means the sheet had not been changed to begin with, as the blood had just soaked through to the next layer. Or, whoever changed the sheets bled on clean sheets and just left it. Either way, this was so beyond gross I unfortunately didn’t really feel comfortable the rest of our stay. As another guest stated, we questioned what we couldn’t see based on what we could… The icing on the cake was my mother in law booked the “seniors package” which advertised 2 included dinners and a drink, but for whatever reason, the hotel would not honour the dinners. We weren’t about to argue over a couple of meals, but if we had to pay the full advertised price for this hotel, it would’ve definitely ruined our otherwise happy trip to Harrison.

Pretty run down. Not very clean. Not work the $$$. Would not recommend. The fountain in the courtyard is obviously broken and all night long it makes a ridiculous squealing noise when it is activated. Lots of maintenance needed.

Stayed here years ago and it was fine, but this time it became the worst hotel I've stayed in after decades of travel! AC was broken, so we were supplied with a very LOUD fan. No warning given that we should expect the room to be close to 30C while it was 18C outside. The boiler room is on the 4th floor, so if you're nearby, you'll both hear and feel it when the AC units on the roof screech every 2 minutes. We were there for less than 10 hours and checked out. No offer of a refund or anything. I feel like I was absolutely conned.

Stayed for two nights over the weekend. Room was good: nice bed, fridge and shower worked well. The bathroom sink tap comes out as spray, which is a bit annoying. The air conditioner worked great and was definitely needed, it was a scorcher! The Continental Breakfast was good, nice perk. And the hotel was very Covid safe, which I appreciated. Everyone was wearing masks and the signs for Covid safety were well posted. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes to check in since our room wasn't ready on time, but maybe they were just being extra safe. All in all a great time and we wish we could have stayed longer.

The property is very good with distancing due to Covid, the front desk has a plexi in front of the one workstation. They do such a good job at the front desk with distancing they are seldom there to assist you. Upon arrival on the Sunday afternoon, there was a note to call a number and then the employee came out. Other days no note but just had to wait for someone to come around. When they are there, super friendly and helpful front desk staff Room: I was booked into a single queen courtyard room, but realized upon entering the room I would not be happy so returned to the front desk to upgrade to 2 queen mountain view room (like I had last year’s visit), I asked what the cost to upgrade would be and he offered it to me no extra charge. Much more specious and bright room vs my original room booking. Excellent black out blinds. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker (didn’t use any of them so cannot comment). Also some bathroom toiletries like gel, shampoo, etc. 4 mini bottles in the bathroom upon arrival plus a mini soap. Travel with my own products so didn’t use them. 2 of each: facecloths, hand towels, shower towels. TV has lots of channels available. Room was very quiet and bed seemed new and firm like a new mattress. Super comfy. 3 plush pillows per bed available. Room noted as having air conditioning. It’s more like a fan that has temperature settings and there is no speed level like low, med, high. Coldest setting felt a slight coolness in the room but never cold. Did the job but I do prefer a cold room. Shower water hit and miss, good pressure, not always hot unless showering before 7am. Shower/tub is slippery and grip stickers in the tub be would be beneficial. Bathroom sink tap water comes out like a spray so if you use anything more than a trickle it sprays all over the counter top and on your shirt. There is a small wall-mounted hair dryer, it works, a bit dismal, but if you’re patient it will eventually dry your hair. I removed some of the fluff/lint from the filter and minimally better. You can leave your dirty towels in a basket by the front desk and just ask the front desk for replacements. When he didn’t have any readily available, he kindly ran a few up to my room 10 minutes later. They do not enter your room for servicing due to Covid, which made me feel safe. I know they thoroughly cleaned the room between peoples stays, but I did my own wipe down upon arrival (brought my wipes). Continental Breakfast included: You are able to collect your continental breakfast voucher at the front desk 8am onwards and was told at check in it starts at 8am. The first day at 8:10am, the restaurant was still not open, and when it opened (myself and another couple were waiting) at 8:15am the person was just starting to set up so not ready. Suggested we have a seat. Toast and bagel, but no butter nor cream cheese that I saw following days. Only peanut butter and jam as a spread on the Monday morning. On that note, the mini butters on the Tuesday and Wednesday mornings were hard as a rock. Also had a pot of coffee and tea bags on Monday morning, but no hot water. Usually offered hard boiled eggs, but that Monday the employee offered us fresh eggs so had scrambled eggs. Did ask for glass of water. Available Monday Cereal, Activia yogurt, toast, eggs to order. Available Tuesday/Wednesday, Cereal, Activia yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs, and choc chip or carrot mini muffins. Carrot muffin was delicious. You could eat at a table, or bring in a take-out container to your room. A suggestion would be to offer fresh fruit, simple, like apples or bananas. Perhaps even orange juice. All in all, very happy with an Activia yogurt, hard boiled eggs, a muffin to start my day. Brought my own bananas. Both employees I saw in the restaurant for continental breakfast time were friendly. I did have a good stay. I stayed last year end of summer so familiar with this hotel during Covid. I knew what I was getting, and in some ways exceeded my expectations. I did have a good stay, and feel I got value for what I paid. I did not expect the Ritz hotel and did not receive that type of experience. I felt safe at all times whether in the underground parking lot or to and from my room and hotel. Enjoyable visit. Easy to walk anywhere in the area from the hotel.
