This guest house is charming, clean and comfortable in a beautiful neighborhood close to a nice park and pathway that takes you down to the sea wall as well within a 15 min stroll to the downtown core. Dorothy is a lovely woman with an open and kind personality who made my four days relaxing.

My husband and I spent two nights at Dorothy's with our friends and we were all very thankful for how cozy and charming it was. Dorothy took good care of us and our rooms were clean and luxurious feeling despite the super affordable rate. It really did feel like a home away from home in that we were able to...

While waiting indefinitely for an overseas work visa to be approved, stayed with Dorothy and her other guests. While a slightly older house, I found it to be very comfortable and at half the price or less than hotels in Nanaimo that were nowhere near as nice. In fact, it reminded me of my grandparents house when I was a...

My husband and I were planning on staying at a hotel but when on the ferrie there was no vacancy and we needed to be close to downtown and was a short notice trip. We called Dorothy as we would be in town at 10PM She was very acomadating! There was tons of parking and very easy to find. Our...

This was our second stay with Dorothy and is our only choice when visiting Nanaimo. The basement suite is a fully contained little home, with lots of personal touches and everything you need for a short or extended stay. Close enough to downtown to walk to the ocean, area restaurants or attractions, but private and quiet for those lazy mornings....

We booked with Dorothy many months in advance as we new this guest house was ideal for us. When we arrived in Nanaimo Dorothy picked us us from the ferry terminal. Dorothy is so welcoming and made us feel at home. We stayed in the private suite for 3 nights. The suite was perfect for us and had everything we...

Dorothy was an excellent host and made sure that we were comfortable during our stay. We rented the private suite and this was perfect for our needs - close enough to walk to Old City Quarter and downtown (about 10 min walk at leisurely pace), fair price, private suite that was kept very clean with plenty of space and useful...

I stayed at Dorothy's Guest House for a weekend in March 2015 and I had a wonderful experience. It was very easy to contact Dorothy to make arrangements over the phone, and the payment process was very simple. Dorothy is a a very friendly, helpful, and gracious host. She offered to pick me up at the ferry and showed me...

I booked a three-week stay in the private suite at Dorothy's Guest House in early March 2015, to accommodate an unexpected work transfer to Nanaimo. From the first moment I contacted Dorothy up until the very moment I checked out of her guest house, she was nothing short of friendly, helpful, accommodating and welcoming. Her suite was impeccably clean, roomy...

It was quite an ordeal to get to Nanaimo (we had an Air Canada flight cancelled and ended up 6 hours late to meet Dorothy) but she was there to greet us and show us to the basement suite which was perfect for our young family of 5. The kitchen had what we needed for one night and the entire...
