Friends had told me about the magic that is Ruckle but there's nothing like experiencing it. As a solo bike tourer, it was amazing to have communal fire pits and heaps of other cyclists camped there. The views of the ocean and the waking up to the sound of it are a unique, awesome feature of this campground.

I camped at Ruckle for 2 nights in July 2016. A friend who lives on Salt Spring joined me for one. It's outdoor beauty at it's best, gorgeous west coast scenery. This is a very basic campground, with only outhouses, water, garbage bins, picnic tables and group fire pits. No showers or sinks. The walk in camp spots are lovely,...

Walk in campground provides wide range of options. Weekends very busy in high season. Try to come mid week for a blissful experience. Camp away from group campsites. The amazing hike to Yeo Point takes you through many types of old growth forest and provides fine views. Return inland via height of land trail.

A warm spell in April made our 2 nite camping stay in Ruckle Park perfect. It's a campsite for the slightly more adventurous... you can drive to the parking lot, but you then must carry - or wheelbarrow - your gear at least 500 meters thru a forest to the ocean-side campsites surrounded by natural meadow. The result? An open...

Fabulous hike (definitely not a walk) to Yeo Point having parked in the car park at station 1. We managed the trip there and back in about 2hrs and 45 minutes of quite brisk walking. Really wonderful scenery and super views all the way. The route and trails are expertly set out with first class signposting and metre readings between...

A most lovely site - peaceful, and beautiful and it was nice to wake up and hear the water sloshing just outside our tent. We rode from the Long Harbour ferry terminal. Really enjoyed the fact that it was a "walk-in".

Spend a long weekend with two kids (four months, three years) and some friends at the campground. Every site has its designated bench/table combo to prepare meals, etc. Very convenient and almost standard in a Provincial Park. Each campsite was clean and overall well maintained. There are several "community fire rings" to light your campfire and enjoy smores. Perfect to...

My girlfriend and I wanted to camp on Saltspring. After hearing stories of when my Dad and Uncle were kids camping on Ruckle farm and how nostalgic it was to them we quickly decided to check it out. After looking into it we found that it is now a park and a campground so we invited a couple of friends...

We were there with our friends and the toilets were out of hand sanitizer all the time.. A person who were in charge of the camp at night was very rude person and disturbing groups from 9 pm with very bad language like shouting "I will turn off the fire if you become load once more" and he was really...

A lovely park with good parking, nice picnic areas and easy hiking trails along the ocean. From the parking lot, take the wide paved path, go up the slate stairs to a viewpoint on a rocky outcrop of meadow and wildflowers. This is the perfect place for a picnic. The view is of Satellite Channel and the Saanich peninsula. Breathtaking!...

“Your room is where you park your tent. For extra quiet stay away from the group sites.”

“Wheelbarrows available at trailhead to help you get your gear down. Some sites have raised wood platforms to pitch your tent if the ground is too wet. Group fire rings allow you to have a fire but not necessarily at your site.”
