Very well situated and a comfortable bed. Free parking is also a plus. Nice cozy breakfast room with good breakfast. Nice neighborhood for walking and the guest house is well organized for off hours arrival. Would use this place again when visiting Vancouver.

When we were looking for a B&B for this trip, we just wanted a place that was affordable within a close range of where our family lives. The Douglas Guest House is not pretentious, it's not glamorous, it doesn't have the best location but it's good, basic housing. Our room was clean but the carpets and fixtures need to be...

there are many good things to say about Douglas guest house. If you are on a budget, it's probably your best bet. The good: location - it's very central, near many restaurants and shops - it's on a quiet street, not too much noise, depending which side of the building you are on - there is free parking - it's...

Second time staying here and have never been disappointed. Quaint rooms with comfy beds. Yummy hot breakfast with gluten free french toast! Super location within short walk to the skytrain station (City Hall - Broadway and Cambie) and VGH. There are 3 of these turn of the century manor homes within a few blocks that the Manager looks after, and...

The staff and the rooms are super great and the staff are super friendly, they bend over backwards for you. I would stay here on my next visit to YVR. The breakfast is done to perfection. Excellent place

My friend and I stayed here after spending three nights camping. We had Suite E, located in the basement of the house off the backyard. Between the two suites was a fridge, kettle and phone. We had our own washroom which was very nice. The Suite had a double and single bed. The beds were pretty comfortable. The breakfast in...

Our room, which included the private bath, was very comfortable. The location was near restaurants and shopping. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent, with many choices. We would definitely stay there again. The value for this guest house is excellent.

Our stay was lovely at the Cambie House B&B- right beside Douglas House. My brother was and is still at VGH and was reason for rush trip. To top off quick and sad trip, I lost my wedding band. I put it in my purse before bed, had gone to outside porch a couple of times and by morning it...

I've stayed at Douglas, Cambie and Windsor House many times over the past couple years. I think my favorite is the Douglas for the staff and rooms I've had so far. They are so willing to accommodate for any special needs and very helpful. Food is fresh and good always, nice to be able to use the fridge to store...

We stayed at the Douglas House when our usual hotel was booked for the date we needed. Had a small second floor room that was very hot. No ceiling fan, no cross ventilation, no air conditioner. It was adequate but nothing special and not a particularly good value for the price. The room was generally clean although the carpet needed...

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
