Douglas House is part of a group of B+Bs including Windsor House and Cambie Lodge in Mt Pleasant, a very nice part of Vancouver and all are close to City Hall/Broadway. We stayed at Windsor House on a previous trip. Because we were staying for...More
We stayed 3 nights in William room and 1 night in Mateo. William is very quiet but very small and the shower is especially small. The sink is outside the bathroom beside the bed, which sounds strange (and was) but really wasn't a big deal....More

Came in on the Greyhound, 30 minute walk to the B & B, but we could have taken the bus or the skytrain.

Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the
city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
