I get all my visiting friends to stay here when they visit Vancouver. I recently had people fly in from L.A. from England and back east Halifax for a big show. They all loved it and the bar is fabulous place to meet. The staff are wonderful and it is so close to the shopping streets and many restaurants around...

The Sutton is well situated in metro Vancouver. From this hotel one can easily walk to Canada Place, Gastown, Chinatown and to Granville Island. Great shopping and restaurants nearby makes this hotel's location perfect. The rooms are traditional, (furniture looked a little tired), bed was excellent, the hotel staff accommodating and lots of action around the main floor bar and...

We were so happy with this beautiful hotel. Since our East Coast flight was not leaving until 11pm, the hotel stored our luggage after checkout. The concierge then told us we could return to the hotel after sightseeing and have access to their spa changing area to freshen up and change before our flight. That was so unexpected and lovely...

I live in Vancouver and booked a Deluxe Suite as I had a guest coming into town for one night and thought it best to be in the heart of the city. I had quite a lot to cover for one day so was very disappointed to arrive to the hotel for check in and the room not be ready....

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver. It has a full doorman/concierge service - a nice throwback to the times when this was an important part of any hotel and a nice change from so many hotels today when quantity is more important than quality! All the hotel were so friendly and helpful and the bar/restaurant...

My husband and I stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel for two nights after a cruise recently. The hotel was conveniently located since we were able to walk there from the port. (Less than 10 blocks) It is in the heart of downtown Vancouver, surrounded by restaurants and shopping. The staff, bellmen and concierge were very friendly and helpful. There...

Great front desk & Concierge. Arrived mid-morning, too early for room to be ready, so luggage immediately taken off our hands and advice given on where to go and what to see/visit. Cheekily asked for room on top floor with great view. Upon our return, wish granted - 21st floor room with double aspect. Hotel immaculately decorated and beautifully clean...

Stayed on a pre-cruise package. Comfortable, very large, pre-modernisation room which was a little dated but very much more than adequate. We paid for breakfast in the corporate lounge Can$18 plus tax, which was fine but unexceptional. Pretty poor coffee! The concierge staff were great and gave us good recommendations for places to visit and nearby restaurants

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
