The Sutton Place Hotel is my favourite place to stay when in Vancouver - the service is excellent, the rooms are lovely, and the location is fabulous - close to restaurants, shops, and the Sea Wall. The food at the new restaurant is amazing - unusual and delicious. We had a fabulous bottle of wine, recommended by the server -...

This is a very nice hotel well located, close to everything. We have stayed here several times. This time we stayed in their long-stay suites which had very slow elevators but were nice with well-equipped kitchens. The best thing about our stay was all the help provided by Miguel, one of the concierges. He was full of excellent suggestions all...

Great staff, always greeting you and very helpful. Room was average, lacking plugins for chargers, coffee maker and other personal devices. Still charging for wifi, really? Would not stay here again as they nickel and dime your travel experience. A/c was extremely loud. For the price you pay expect more. There are an abundance of other options in the city.

The hotel location and accommodations are nice by general standards. The food at the hotel is not great. What bumped this view from 4 stars to 3 stars was the way I was treated by the staff at the spa. Because I was in Vancouver and away from home for a week, I decided to splurge and buy myself a...

We only had one night at Sutton Place Hotel but wished we'd stayed longer. It's a great base for exploring the city with some high end shopping in easy walking distance. If you want to explore further there's an Avis car rental just 5 minutes walk away as well. The hotel lobby is beautiful and smelt of fresh flowers -...

What a beautiful hotel! We had one of the prettiest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in! Yes it was a grand suite, and grand it was. Big living room with spectacular views , big bedroom with luxury linen and a huge marble bathroom. An the best of it all:we paid 120 dollars a night. Breakfast was served for free...

I have stayed in Vancouver several times. I usually stay at 3 star hotels. Which have been very good value and also nice clean hotels. So I guess when my girlfriend chose this hotel, as it was 5 stars, my expectations of the hotel were quite high. The entrance is grand and staff were nice but the room was average....

In Vancouver for two weeks on business and stayed in the residence side of this downtown hotel. 14th Floor, corner suite, which was very quiet apart from some street noise, which I think is unavoidable because Burrard is a main city artery. Service was top notch, food in the restaurant and bar was good (albeit pricey), and the suite was...

We had a very pleasant 4 night stay at the Sutton. The staff was very pleasant and helpful from the door man to room service. Suite with two rooms, living room, dining area and kitchen. Very convenient. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

We arrived early at the hotel, and it was raining so we did not want to go out and explore Vancouver. So we went to the front desk and they checked us in. Also upgraded the room when we asked for a different type of room. Elaina was the front desk person who took care of us, she was very...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
