Not the best hotel rooms in terms of modern amenities or decor and it had a few cleanliness issues but it was convenient and easy to get to the water and go for a nice little walk. If you just want a place to sleep...More
In Sept 2017 I visited for about 7 days and the experience qas a very nice one. It is walking distance to the water and the lovely green areas, shops and restaurants! The staff was wonderfull and the Gentle Teaching Congress where I presented a...More
Room was OK but the decor was tired and dated. Didn't eat there as didn't inspire us (even breakfast) but plenty of good independent places nearby.
Overall a good location for Stanley Park and the NW bays and not too far from downtown to walk.
The hotel is very dated and absolutely needs renovation, staff and management is polite and rooms are spacious and offer incredible views of the city. Location is very central and close to the beach. Swimming pool pretty scary since it is very dark and changing...More
I am really going to miss this hotel. The location and the entire community in and around the Coast Plaza Suites is something special and that I will never forget. I stayed in the hotel for a little over 4 months and I know these...More

A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.

Hi Kenny. To the best of my knowledge, based on making a reservation for this coming week, the hotel is closing in November for a retrofit and conversion to apartment complex. I believe that there will be some hotel rooms available on lower floors (staff informed me last year), but this may have changed.
