This is my favorite hotel in Vancouver. I started coming here over 30 years ago when it was built by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel System. Later it was owned by the Delta Hotel chain. The Metropolitan has kept many of the Mandarin Oriental's decorative touches and artwork. This Hotel always seemed to go unnoticed even though it is built across...

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Metropolitan Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. The Staff were very helpful and the hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. I would recommend getting a suite for the extra expense as it is worth it.

Our preferred place to stay in Vancouver. Convenient location, quiet and clean. Frontdesk staff are awesome - friendly and efficient. Luxury King room is a good size, separate shower and tub. Great bed, comfortable with lovely linens.

Room is ok, a little bit old. Basic room I will say. Price is medium which gives an average price/hotel quality. Nothing to write a home about, but very convenient place if you are going to the area for business. Not too many amenities, but small gym, an good average restaurant- service good sometimes and food is good. Service is...

Great downtown location, with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and the bathroom very spacious. Pacific Centre mall was just across the street and we could walk to the Art Gallery, the waterfront and many other sites. Transportation was close by as well.

Location very good near shopping, Simon Fraser University (Vancouver site) and a 20 minute walk to Stanley Park. Friendly staff. Large rooms. Small balcony, but view was of a concrete wall and another hotel across the street. Being downtown, there was traffic noise when the glass doors were open, but it was quite quiet when they were closed. Overall, a...

Hello Alsyeki Thank you for staying with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, and had a nice time exploring the city. It is difficult to avoid noise in the core of downtown, but with the balcony door closed, I agree that it is very quiet. Hope to see you back again!

Though helpful at the front desk there was some initial angst as the personnel could not figure out a credit card situation, which would appear very basic. The gym facility was cramped with limited equipment. Overall staff was helpful and I had a great view from my room.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
