We had a comfortable room on the 3rd floor, it was quiet and clean, with a sink in the room and we shared a bathroom. There were 3 bathrooms on that floor, two with showers, all very clean, lots of hot water.

My friend and I stayed for a concert in a private double bed room. The beds were fantastic and the bath/shower were the best I've ever had at a hotel. All staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely be staying again for all of my Vancouver trips! Parking was super secured and we were able to leave our car there...

The hotel is beautiful, good location, but in our case, customer service sucked big time! During one night of our stay, there were two lengthy false fire alarms, about 20 minutes apart, then during the rest of the night, two more single rings. We couldn't sleep all night waiting for another alarm. Staff were uninformative when we asked for details,...

Harry, I am so, so sorry for the alarms. But I'm more upset about the response. I have to admit we were all caught off guard by the experience. These things sound air raid sirens and we had technicians in every day for a week trying to figure it out. For what it is worth, a defective heat detector tucked...

Concert night at the Commodore and decided to stay in town, we live in the Valley. Didn't expect the charm and location for the price, very clean and comfy bed, lotsa hot water! Love the decor, simple and airy, very tall ceilings give it an old world feel. Parking was off-site just up the block, a real no-brain'er. Very close...

Well John, it sounds like you wrote the book on "Staycations" -a great concert, a better sleep and a long hot shower capped off with brunch. Woo-hoo nailed it! We will be expecting to see you again soon- keep it rolling.

This hotel was so beautiful! Alex at the front desk was amazing and so polite. The rooms were very clean and the gated parking was a plus. Plus we got breakfast with pastries, the good fruit salad without melons, and lots more. I will stay here again!

It is in a top location, close to downtown shopping area and harbour, around 10min by foot. If you book early, you can get a good price, the cost is also fair compared to other hotel in the downtown area. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice. We had our own bathroom, so this was great too....

Many thanks for your kind words Cora and your jam suggestions have been duly noted. Sorry about the snug conditions in our breakfast room. I sometimes wish we had more space but for the most part it does the trick. Guests are also welcome to have their breakfast in their rooms which can be little more relaxing. Please travel safe...

I loved this hotel. The oldest running hotel in Vancouver, with extensive renovations. Staff are so friendly and helpful. In walking distance to almost everything downtown. Rooms were clean, extremely comfortable. A very nice breakfast was included. It is shared bathrooms, semi-hostel-style, but don't let that scare you. There were three on our floor, all were extremely clean, and I...

So Colleen, if you loved staying in one of our Euro-rooms with the shared washrooms, you'll positively adore anyone of our Superior rooms. Over half of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a cool blend of old and new features. Maybe you will have a chance to test one out next time. See you then.

Beautiful old style hotel. Has kept the features of the past while adding contempory technology to the rooms. Good size and comfortable rooms with good facilities. Basic continental breakfast but more than adequate. Good location. From airport catch Skytrain to Waterfront and get off at Vancouver City Centre station. Max 10 minute walk to hotel. Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
