A well positioned hotel within a few minutes walk of Gastown and local shops. Hotel built in 1890 but modernised. A wonderful combination of olde world with modern amenities. Lovely light bright room with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast ...plenty of it. Cornflakes the only cereal but lovely fruit salad, croissants and several breads. Not heaps of choice but adequate. Booked lastminute and stayed a night at the Victorian Hotel in Homer Street, Vancouver to be right downtown, and in a good location for evening dinner and to catch the inexpensive skytrain out to YVR airport the next day. The hotel is great, right next to Gastown and so close to the Waterfront Skytrain station. Its exactly as it says...

Hotel with beautiful architecture and decoration, especially for those who appreciate old buildings and "history." Very spacious room (we were 4 and still lot of space) and comfortable beds, beautiful furniture. Bathroom very clean and new. Heating is great in the room but not in the halls: the heater was not turned on out of the room perhaps because for...

We picked the Victorian Hotel based on the reasonable price compared to many other Vancouver hotels and it was a very pleasant surprise. We had a Superior King room (211) with our own bathroom and it was very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Some reviewers have complained about the lack of AC and about noise but we had an AC...

Thank you for the terrific review and kind words Mikkapikka. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and I've passed on your comments to the crew at Cinara. With regard to the wi-fi, we are in the process of installing one of the fastest systems in the city, so I'm sure you will be duly impressed on your next...

We spent three nights at the Victorian Hotel. The hotel is old but has been recently refurbished. In keeping with its age, there are no elevators so that you need to use stairs and there is no central air-conditioning. Hence out room was warm but with the in room fan, sleeping was not an issue. We had a large room...

Beautiful hotel with nice ambience. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom for two nights, it was very clean and the bathroom was always available when I needed it. The breakfast of croissants and fruit was great to start the day. The staff where friendly. My only concern is the location which borders a rough area - and...

What a great little review. Thanks Tracy. On the topic of walking around after dark, I understand your concerns, especially if you are unfamiliar with a city and that's prudent. However, despite some of our challenges with the homeless, Vancouver is one of the safest big cities in North America and it's absolutely rare to hear of anyone running into...

Super clean, nicely renovated & decorated place. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side which is ok if you're there just to sleep & take off. It was rather warm when we were there so the room was warm & stand up fan was what we had to rely on- no a/c but u get what u pay for....

We thank you for your review Calgary Mama. It sounds like you put together a great concert weekend. May I suggest you kick it up a notch for the next one, as over half our rooms have marble or stone tiled en-suite washrooms that I know you will love. See you next time.

We attended a concert at the Imperial. We picked the Victorian because of proximity to the venue and Gas town. Its and older hotel that has been renovated well. The Corner rooms are spacious with lots of room to relax and enjoy the city life. Down stairs is a wonderful restaurant. Valet parking so you can leave your car behind....

Many thanks for the review Carlos. It's just amazing how popular Gastown has become in the past few years. The live music scene is buzzing and there is no better neighbourhood when it comes to one-of-a-kind restaurants. We look forward to seeing you again on your next entertainment junket.

We stayed here one night after our cruise got into Vancouver, it’s just a few blocks from the port, Canada Place. It’s in a good location. It’s an old building but in great shape, lots of charm. The bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets. Our room was a “shared bath” room. There were three bathrooms on our floor,...

Nice little hotel run by friendly staff, with emphasis on the "little". The standard room is just about the smallest I have been in. Which is not so bad, if you're expecting that, but the ventilation is so poor that even on a mild day (70 F/21 C) the room was uncomfortably stuffy and hot. The shared bathrooms were clean...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
