Stayed here for 3 days after our Alaskan cruise. Perfect location. The staff was very helpful. If we visit Vancouver, we will stay here again. The city is safe and walkable. People are friendly and willing to help.

YMCA had everything I needed: excelent location, cleaniness and good rates. The staff was always helping us with the directions and tours. The hostel also had basic facilities such as parking lot, laundry, gym and ammenities. Breakfast was not included but there is a cafe inside the hostel. It could only be better if they offered rooms with private bathrooms.

With the ridiculous cost of hotel Rooms in Van. I decided to investigate more affordable Options. I went with the Y and I am SO glad I did! Sparkling clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent location. Travelled with family and shared two rooms. Half the cost of the name brand hotel. They will lend you dishes and every room has a sink.... More

A warm welcome was received and a full explanation of what did what and where things were was given. The room was clean and noise was not an issue in the two nights we stayed. The location is not in the heart of Vancouver but gave great access to Robson street where many restaurant for many budgets could be catered... More

We stayed for a total of 5N in a double-double room (with pte bathroom) for 3 persons, over 2 periods - one after our Alaska cruise and on the return from the Canadian Rockies. We were happy that we could check in right after getting off our cruise ship before 10 am. Reception staff was helpful and friendly. Room was... More

Flew SFO to Seattle to Vancouver. This was a true find in downtown Vancouver. Very affordable, clean and comfortable. Easy walk for local dining. Quick trip to the Alaskan and Pacific Northwest cruise ship docks by cab. Staff gracious, courteous and informative. Taxi available in just minutes. My photos will best tell the story of my stay. We went to a concert and the venue was a 3 minute walk away. Great downtown location for a good price. Nice that there's an underground, secure parking option too. The room was small but the beds were comfortable. I'll definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the train station and bus stops and a short walk to Gastown, Chinatown and round the corner from Robson Street. The rooms although basic were clean, we had a double with an ensuite which was a good size and we'll appointed and the staff helpful and very friendly. I... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
