Situated in downtown Vancouver in a busy area (the place rocks!!) on Davie St, the hotel doesn't look attractive from the outside; its a multi-storey with balconies (c24 floors). Check-in area is somewhat drab but the staff were helpful and friendly although we did have to wait an hour until our room was ready at 4.00pm. The room (as the...

Everyone seems to have different views of this accommodation but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I was travelling with 2 friends and we stayed at the Sandman Suites for 5 nights in September. We got a corner room with a city view and I felt the suite had everything we needed - loads of wardrobe space,...

We were booked here for 3 nights and had booked several months in advance. When we arrived the reception was abrupt and perfunctory, we accept they are busy at front desk but it was not very welcoming! Our first room was appalling, noisy air conditioning outside, ice machine by the door, it was aknowledged that this room was bad and...

...agree with most of the other reviews, so not to repeat, but specifically the street noise from Davie esp on weekends was amazing even on the 9th floor; take along a book waiting for elevators; main thing not seen in reviews so far is that the business centre charges $8 an hour (or $4 for 20 mins) to use the...

I stay at this place every time I go to Vancouver. Great location, nicely remodeled, I love the fact that the suites have kitchenettes and washer and dryers !! Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Also outdoor pool , small gym and spa.

Better than it appears from the outside, the room, with kitchenette and lounge/diner is very compact but clean and decorated adequately, if somewhat dated. Situated approx 15 mins to English Bay beach and fairly close to Robson street (good for shopping), in the west end of downtown Vancouver, it's quite central but not the very best part of town. If...

Just got back from my one night stay at this hotel. The location is very central with access to tons of restaurants and bars right outside the front door. This is a gay community but everyone fits right in. Checked in a couple of hours early, no problem. Our one bedroom suite, #1901, had great city views, but it was...

We liked our one bedroom suite very much. The kitchen had everything and more than we needed for a couple of days. The bedrooms are small but perfectly ok, bathroom was good too. Nice sitting area, again not huge but fine for the two of us. Everything very clean and in good working order but maybe could do with a...

We stayed here for a week in August, during some incredibly hot (unseasonably!) weather - aircon was fantastic, if a little noisy. Room on the 17th floor, we were next to the lifts, but had no issues with noise like others did. some street noise, but we were facing the ocean, so not too bad. Pool looked lovely, but never...

Staying in Davie Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
