We were celebrating our honeymoon and this was one of our last stops - wish it was our first and we were staying longer! Doug is dedicated to providing each guest with an amazing stay. He greeted us upon our arrival, upgraded our reservation to a gorgeous room then took time to talk about details of our trip. He provided...

What a superb B&B. A short walk to English Bay and the restaurants and very comfortable. Doug is the best host you could hope for and the quality of the breakfast was first class. Doug was full of suggestions on good places to go for a day trip or a good evening meal. Room was comfortable and the decor superb...

Aside from the fantastic location, the English Bay Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It is a beautiful old house, made even more so by the fine details in decorating. Our room was comfortable and clean, but certainly the small size typical of that age of house. However, with so much to see and do just a few minutes...

Excellent location, a short walk to restaurants, the water, Stanley Park, and a nice clean alternative to better hotels. Doug is the quintessential B&B host; he'll tell you all you need to know about attractions that meet your interests. The breakfast is superb, and as noted by others, the scones are simply the best. The only ding was for not...

Doug's scones. That should be enough reason to stay at English Bay Inn. The rest of the breakfast is of very high quality too and, not to put too fine a point on it, very healthy! Doug is an excellent host and the inn is wonderful. We stayed in 3 of the rooms over 4 nights and all were very...

Stayed here for two days and wished we could have stayed a week. Room was one of the smaller "cozy" ones but still very comfortable and quiet. Great quiet neighborhood and close (three blocks) to English Bay and Stanley Park. Breakfast was amazingly good and original (best Eggs Benedict ever) and Doug was a great host and very knowledgable about...

We stayed at the English Bay Inn for five nights in total spread over two short stays in Vancouver. The host Doug was really friendly and welcoming and had arranged to have our room ready early after our morning arrival from Australia, which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed the Garden View room for our first stay and the Grand Bedroom...

My wife and I stayed at the English Bay Inn for 4 nights in July 2013 prior to embarking on a cruise. We chose the English Bay Inn due to the price, location and excellent Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Arriving from the airport, we were greeted by the owner, Doug, with a warm welcome, help with...

We stayed here in July and had a wonderful time. The host, Doug, was so helpful and friendly. he directed us to places to eat along with where to get bikes. It is so close to Stanley Park. We also can't forget to mention his wife's breakfast scones--how delicious.

We stayed here for 3 days and it was absolutly lovely. The owner was a kind man who made us feel very welcome and looked after. Not to mention the breakfasts were amazing. Fresh papaya served with lime to start and a different entre every day. We really felt he cared about us while we were there.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
