I stayed in a four bed dorm here for five nights. The beds are good, rooms are a bit cramped but ok. Bathrooms are big and clean. Wifi is good. The free breakfast is awesome - bagels, muffins, fruits, cereals, coffe, tea etc. Free drinking water and coffe/tea all day. Its located in a nice and quiet are, so its...

The best thing about this hostel is LOCATION!! You can not go wrong right in English Bay on a residential are, which is good specially coming back at night. Shared dorms are SO SMALL!!!!! And now it really shows the whole building that is more than 20 years old! Need some serious Improvement!! Sadly Staff is one of the worst...

We spent a week here when we first arrived and we were pleased with the location, facilities and cleanliness. We had a private double room which was reasonably priced too. Would happily come back here :)

This hostel is in the perfect location, out of the way from party areas, a quiet clean street. The staff were helpful and friendly, check in and out was so easy! The free breakfast is great with a selection of bagels, muffins, coffee and tea. We had a private room with a shared bathroom and the shower was the best!...

I stayed at this hostel for a week whilst trying to find somewhere to live in Vancouver. The staff were extremely helpful. The free breakfast was amazing! There are plenty of activities and it is a short walk to Downtown, a little ferry to the island for unique shopping and huge famous market. There are two cinemas within walking distance...

I stayed here alone in a female dorm room and had a great time. I was the only one in the 4 bed dorm, so I had lots of space! The bathroom down the corridor was clean and well-equipped. It would have been good to have a little seat in the shower cubicle to help get dressed but that's a...

Me and my sister stayed here for 5 nights and it was a good experience as far as hostels go. However the whole place could do with a lick of paint and the carpets being pulled up as there was always a stale sort of smell in the dorms. I also had to ask that the sink in our dorm...

ARRIVING FROM AIRPORT - If you're traveling as a group, take advantage of taxi zone fares ($31 to downtown flat rate, as of Oct 2016) Alternatively, you can easily take the Skytrain from YVR airport all the way to downtown. ($6 refundable Compass card purchase, can add stored value, $9.95 daily pass, etc). I suggest waiting to get downtown before...

The location of this hostel is very good. The city center is not far away and it is a quiet and safe region at the same time. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Not only bagels with peanutbutter or jam, coffee and tea were served but also orange juice, muffins, scones and raisin...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
