Good location and an excellent staff to greet you and very helpful. Rooms clean and up to date, but heating less than desirable for cool nights, and the bed was less than desirable and did not meet the standard of quality for a luxury bed & breakfast.

Lovely B&B in the leafy West end neighborhood, close to Stanley Park, English Bay, Davie Village, and Robson Street. Friendly and attentive staff. Great breakfast daily, and nice perks, like fresh-baked cookies every afternoon. And the innkeeper Dennis is a gem; friendly, full of information and suggestions; has a chat with each guest daily. I would, and in fact will,...

Me and wife check-in at Barclay House BandB for a single night getaway. Our experienced were beyond compare; an excellent location, an excellent room, excellent service from an excellent staff and a very good breakfast (coffee, juice and an omelet and smoked sockeye salmon in an english muffin)....it was a real WOWWWWWW!!!!!

We stayed in the Peak for 2 nights. The room was clean and spacious. You could relax and unwind after a long flight and a day of sightseeing. You can easily walk to catch public transport either get a compass card or make sure you have exact change! They don't except notes. The breakfasts were very nice and it was...

Barclay house is a lovely B&B. The house has been very tastefully decorated and modernised. The service was first class. The rooms are very comfortable and very well maintained. Breakfast was super and we look forward to returning next week. There is car parking at the rear, which is very convenient. Excellent B&B.

We stayed 2 nights in the Forest Room in August 2016. The free on-site parking was extremely convenient, even though we didn't use our car at all during our stay. We found the B&B's location to be very centrally located to everything we wanted to do and see while we were in town, so we walked everywhere. The room was...

Here's a thing, if you don't want to meet other people on a break don't go to havens like The Barclay House. If you want total 5 Star amenities, like lifts and gourmet food, don't go to the House. However, if you like other people, want to interact and spend time in a beautiful home from home in the best...

I liked everything about the Barclay House. Nice rooms, very comfortable bed, delicious breakfasts, DVD library, free off-street parking, and only a couple of blocks away from hundreds of good restaurants and shops. We stayed in the Garden Room, which has an outside entrance. Most of the other rooms are inside and upstairs. If you have a problem with stairs...

We stayed for three nights in this beautiful B&B. We had the Mountain Room, a cozy and clean room with a separate cute bathroom at the end of a private hallway. The room had everything we needed, upon arrival there was a map of Vancouver and great cookies. We enjoyed every one of our three breakfasts, wether it was a...

From the moment I step my feet on the balcony, I felt at home already. The place is very welcoming and the manager is very friendly. I love how the place was decorated, it’s out of the ordinary. We stayed at the Haidaway room. It has an easy access to the garden where you can relax and bask in the...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
