When chain hotels in big city downtown areas charge so much per night, they should strive to meet a minimum expectation of orderly room and decent service. The reception was well organized and Tim was welcoming and helpful with some local info. The room was not large, but comfortable enough for a big city hotel. The bed, linens and towels...

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our Canadian holiday and overall it was good. The hotel, including the room, is a bit tired and there was no safe in the room which I think is necessary. We had breakfast in the hotel on the first morning but after that went to Tim Horton's which was better...

Stayed for two nights prior to cruise. Rooms good standard clean and comfortable. problems with the lifts had to wait for ages, many having to take the stairs. Travelled as part of a coach party and we were treated as second class citizens, herded into a back room, with one waiter for numerous travellers,

Hotel was in a convenient location. Good price. Room was fairly large, with a kitchenette, living room and the bedroom in a separate area. Room shows its age but for the price and location it's a great bargain. The entrance is a little hidden on the street but the hotel it's self is very visible

The beds are amazing! The noise on the other hand is absolutely horrible! We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night on the start of our tour and the noise Friday night was so loud I knew what songs were playing and could sing along if I wasn't so utterly exhausted and in need of sleep. I rang downstairs but...

Dear Valued Guest, The City of Vancouver hosted a special event this weekend across from the hotel. Readers please know that they did follow the noise bi-laws. The exciting news is we are located in the heart of the entertainment district so if you are seeking a fun visit, we are the hotel to stay at! Kind regards, Susan Strome...

The reviews are true, believe them when you see them. Yes, this hotel is less expensiveness than the rest of the hotels in the surrounding area. The hotel is very old. The bathrooms are in bad shape so are the rooms. The elevators are slow and don't work properly. We found ourselves taking the stairs. The location is great, the...

We were disappointed in the quality of this establishment. Our room was pokey and the décor tired. There was constant industrial noise from air conditioning systems from a neighbouring property. Location: The hotel is located some distance from the central city core and the harbour front so guests needed to walk or catch public transport if they needed to go...

We stayed at the Sandman for a night before setting off on a cruise. It is very handy to the Canada Place cruise port. It filled the bill nicely: clean, good-sized room. Our room was ready early so we were able to check on arrival from the airport, very efficient reception service. Lots in the neighbourhood to walk to. Overall,...

Located nearby the city centre it was really convenient for us. The suite was comfortable and the coffee in the morning was really good. Check-in and check-out were fast. At reception we received full information regarding potential visits of the main city attractions.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
