staying at Skwachays Lodge was so special. We were very impressed with the decor, the art gallery in the lobby, the very friendly and helpful staff, the warm sitting room by the fireplace, the amazing breakfast with Indigenous food. Our room was so artfully designed. It felt different than any other hotel. I would recommend it for sure. We loved...

We like to stay in smaller hotels so the Skwachays Lodge was perfect for us. We very much appreciated the art and the fact that the hotel is part of the larger First Nations community. Our rooms faced the courtyard and were very clean and quiet. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides free coffee, tea and...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights - the customer service was unparalleled, the location was great, and the room and art were both amazing and unique. We were both so glad that we could contribute to the larger cause this hotel supported and enjoyed the neighborhood and the gallery. The hotel staff went out of their way...

My daughter and I spend four nights at this unique boutique hotel close to both Chinatown and Gastown. A portion of the building is reserved to house First Nation 's artisans and there is a lovely gallery with fine examples of the art, from jewelry, paintings, leatherwork, and sculpture. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and showcase Aboriginal art. A continental...

The hotel and attached gallery are run to support the First Nations artists - of all kinds - live and work there. I felt virtuous! The people working there were awesome and very helpful. I was a bit away from the conference centre (I was in Vancouver for work) but a walk down Water Street took care of that. And...

Next time I am in Vancouver, I am staying here. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are all uniquely decorated, but all with a first nations theme. The lobby and gallery too are stunning. The continental breakfast was great and the hotel staff was the best I have encountered. After checking in, we were on a first name basis....

Well Skwachàys Lodge to first thought to my with the location could be sketchy however I booked it online regardless. Once we got to Vancouver from the island we made our way down to Pender St and had a bit of a hard time seeing it and they have no parking out front once we did see it. I put...

We stayed for about a week in August 2016. Very good value and the location was great for access to transit and sightseeing. Complimentary breakfast each morning was a treat with locally sourced foods and homemade goodies. The art work around the property and in the rooms is great. Staff were great...attentive, helpful and knowledgeable.

Vancouver-- and the Pacific Northwest -- is profoundly about the many First Nations Peoples that lived there first. Skwachays Lodge is like a hotel but has many interesting and different additional features. For one, the hotel supports a First Nations Artists-In-Residence program; so for the price of our room, we felt we could do some good. Next, the people are...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
