I stayed 3 months in the hostel. At the first sight it didn't seem a nice place. But hold on, sometimes you should give it a second try and you might find out the beauty underneath the surface. Enjoy your stay!

I booked for a week and ended up staying here 6 months. Nice place, lot of cool people, many artists, music at night and lot of fun. Love spending time in the common area, talking, eating and having great times. If you are on a tight budget that's the PLACE TO BE. Right in the middle of Downtown so super...

The dorms are clean much cleaner than other hostels. The people are good and actually socialize unlike the other hostels. The prices are amazing. Everyone has a good time here. Other hostels are not as laid back. The owned is a very nice, welcoming man. This is the best hostel in Canada!

It's the cheapest hostel in Vancouver. So don't expect much. Chad who works here is very nice and helps you answer any questions you may have even when he is not working. 😀 . You do have to clean your own room lots of pot being smoked. I didn't enjoy the uncleanliness or lack of spotty wifi. It's hard to...

We booked a private room for 3 nights and when we got there: "We don't book the rooms it's more of an indication that you'll be arriving and a way of getting you here". Was shown a dorm room with two available beds; even the manager didn't want to go in! They are bragging about getting rid of bed bugs....Yeah...

The cheapest place to stay in Vancouver. If you are not ready to "rough it" this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a budget friendly place to rest your head, lots of super friendly people and central location. This is for you. Vincent (the manager) is a Vancouver tourist attraction in his own right! American...

The place is awfully run down, the entrance door will make you want to reconsider. You should. I arrived a bit early, 4:40pm, the manager wouldn't let me in. We're supposed to read a number of disgusting signs posted everywhere, of very dubious style and grammar, and not ask "dumb questions". So I patiently waited until 5pm, when Mr had...

I have been staying at this hostel for over five weeks now. I am absolutely impressed by the friendly, accommodating front desk staff, central downtown location, chill atmosphere, plus Wifi and laundry are both available. I would definitely recommend this to other travelers on a budget who are interested in being in the hub of the downtown core for events...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
