A welcome and refreshing change from staying in a hotel. Hosts Randy & Pam were friendly and helpful. The room was a lovely suite with a super comfortable bed, a spacious and clean on-suite, plenty of room to unpack bags and great servicing every day. Right by the bus stop and an easily walkable distance to Granville Island. Would not...

Thank you for your kind review during our peak summer season. My wife & I often take the bus downtown ourselves as parking can be expensive & difficult.

Our experience at this B and B was quite strange. We expected more of a traditional bed and breakfast experience. Instead, when we arrived, we entered a code on the front door and came in to a clean but empty home. The home itself is quite sterile and essentially devoid of any personality, though admittedly quite clean. We were instructed...

Dear Emily Y, Thank you for your review of our "clean home". Yes, my wife & I have lived at our Granville House B&B since we opened in 2008, so if we missed you it must have been because of your late arrival & early departure during your short stay with us. When researching B&Bs prior to opening (we owned...

Stayed in the Alder suite which had nice bed and linens and bath. There was a sofa in the room but faced away from the cumbersome to operate TV which set on a crowded desk. No table to set a drink on. The room was quiet enough not like the ones our friends stayed in facing the street. The cleanliness...

Cheryl K, thank you for your kind comments of "nice bed and linens and bath" and "cleanliness of the room and common area was impeccable". Our "shoes off" policy keeps things impecable & there are 2 sofas by the front door for sitting. We are looking at renovating your Alder Master Suite sofa to face a wall mounted LCD TV,...

Great location in Shaugnessy and we walked into Vancouver downtown (about an hour). Very comfortable beds and bed linen. Beautifully decorated too. Randy was extremely friendly and helpful. Good local eco products in the bathroom. All very well appointed. All in all excellent value and I highly recommend Granville House.

Wow, 5 stars! Thank you for appreciating our Shaughnessy location (Wikipedia describes as "Vancouver's wealthier neighbourhood" in the "second most expensive city in the world"). My wife & I strive to provide our guests with the best eco friendly B&B experience. Compared to hotels & AirBnB (which we are on), I believe we do offer, as you say, "excellent value"....

Overall, we had very good time in B&B. We stayed in Alder suite. It was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a Jacuzzi, although we ran out of hot water when trying to take a shower afterwards. The suite faces the garden and is pretty quiet. I am a very light sleeper but didn't have any problems. Our great overall...

Thank you Curious_Cat for your near perfect review. We do not own a microwave (I think they are the scourge of the kitchen) and our milk steamer was broken. I may have annoyed you by offering our Numi Organic Dessert Lime (caffeine free) Tea with honey for your sore throat, commenting that milk will encourage flem. My bad. Randy

Checked in with an email for our codes and the place was extremely clean. I like to stay at places that are comfy and cozy and not too intrusive. This suite was big, spacious and roomy. Bed was super comfy as were the bedding quality. The only thing is that when the TV doesn't work you don't have a front...

Houses on busy Granville Street are hidden by high hedges, so finding the proper house number was difficult for a vision-challenged senior without GPS who hadn't been to Vancouver before. The owner-managers of Granville House were away during our two-night stay but, having received entry codes prior to our arrival, we let ourselves in and found the way to our...

We found Granville B&B through an Internet search and, having never been to Vancouver before, we were pleasantly surprised at how accessible it was. Very easy to find in our hire car from the airport. And it was easy to catch an electric bus to go downtown. Also a nice stroll to the botanic gardens. Our suite was very well...

Thank you for your 5/5 review for our Elm Junior Suite. This is our largest Junior Suite, and the only suite on the main floor. I stayed here for 4 nights I believe, October of 2014. I liked the no shoe policy in the house, which was one of the main reasons I booked here. I stayed in the junior room, downstairs, and had no problem in regards to the traffic noise. I was out the whole day and by the time I got back...

Thank you for commenting that: 1) you "liked the no shoe policy in the house, which was one of the main reasons I booked here". This is normal Vancouver practice, probably due to our rainy weather and out door activities. 2) you "had no problem in regards to the traffic noise" in your Elm Junior Suite. Genuine and helpful friendly staff. I stayed in the Alder suite. Very spacious and cosy room. Great value for money. Couldn't fault it. The room and bathroom was very clean. Unlike others I couldn't hear traffic and thought the room was quiet at night.

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
