July 2016, I booked this hotel's Ruby room for two of my friends. The day prior to my friends arrival, I received a call from the owner, proposing that my friends stay in a room that she doesn't usually rent out but would have a private bath (for the same price). However, when I arrived at 10pm, the room had a...

Excellent location, walking distance to grocery, coffee shop, restaurant, liquor store and the ocean. Ocean view out the front window. Fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Well worth the price. The airline lost our bag and we arrived late, Cindy greeted us and had a toothbrush and toothpaste for us! Very much appreciated.

In fact it is a house with rental dorms. The accommodations are simple, but the place is clean and very well located, specially if you have business at UVIC. The breakfast I did not try. Cindy, the owner, showed to be a very helpful person. Worth for the money.

While...

We went there because we had to go 1 more week in UVIC and it was the closest. it's really well located, short walk both to the beach and to UVIC BUT we took the most expensive "suite" and still it's only one room in a garage of the house. it's more a guest house, since you can't get breakfast...

The owners of this house are very nice people, but they work full time, and the B&B is an after-thought at best. I was quite an effort to get power to the television, to get clean, dry towels, etc. Also, the breakfast advertised is evidently non-existent. The good news is that it's very reasonably priced in an expensive city. The...
