This is an amazing home to stay in. We were there for 2 nights and would have loved to stay for more. Earl met us at check-in and made us feel so welcome. Our room was spacious, clean and lacking for nothing. Breakfasts were wonderful - especially having the large table where you had to interact with the other guests.What...

We did a weekend "staycation" at Rendell...we only live 35 minutes away, but from time to time love to wander around downtown, hike Signal Hill, pop into coffee shops, restaurants and pubs without one of us having to drive home. Rendell B&B was convenient, well-priced and had a full cooked breakfast which is rare these days. Earl, one of the...

As an introduction to St. John’s we could not have asked for a better B&B than the Rendell Shea and the hospitality of our host Earl Norman. Within walking distance of downtown St. John’s, Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, restaurants, bistros and shops, the Rendell Shea was a restful and pleasant stopover before we engaged on our tour of the Rock....

Superb location. Walking distance to 2 main streets, Duckworth and Water St. The host, Earl, is a very nice guy with lots of visitor tips. Stayed in Signal Hill room on 3'rd floor. Only issue would be bathroom...was clean but on the small side so not a lot of room to manoeuvre.

The Rendell Shea Manor was perfect in many ways for my partner and me. It is such a beautiful place located within walking distance to everything in St. John's that we wanted to explore. We stayed for 3 days and the car was parked from check in to check out! Our room was on the third floor and we loved...

The location is absolutely the best - close to downtown, Signal Hill, and Quidi Vidi village, but still in a quiet area. The house is gorgeous, immaculately clean and the rooms are very comfortable. We stayed downstairs, which is nice because you don't have to carry luggage upstairs and it is the coolest room in the house (there's no A/C)....

We stayed for 5 days at the Rendell Shea Manor and were very happy with the experience. Earl and Helen were extremely helpful everyday giving us suggestions for day trips out of St. John's as well as great tips for visiting the city. We found this extremely beneficial. It was unusually hot during our stay and they even provided air...

We stayed here for 3 fabulous nights; it is definitely one of the more beautiful BandBs we've ever stayed in. It's close enough to downtown to be incredibly convenient and far away enough to not be bothered by any noise. Our room (the George Rendell) was very quiet, bright and spacious. Highly recommended!

The inn offers Victorian-style comfort in the heart of St. John's. The historic building is welcoming and immaculate. Each room has its own character and all are lovely. The breakfast is essentially a fixed menu and the food is simple. The location is ideal for walking downtown. Our host, Earl, consistently gave good recommendations for restaurants and jogging routes. The...

This B&B is located close to the action without being in it. Walking to and from dinner or over to the museum is a pleasure. We found the B&B well maintained and comfortable with all the amenities and then some. It was fun to come back from dinner and find a little cake or cookie in the coffee/tea alcove which...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rendell Shea Manor is a Heritage Home located in the Historic East End of St. John's. This is one of the best areas downtown to walk the city. There are local cafés, craft stores, restaurants and local Pubs. We are within minutes walk of Signal Hill, The Rooms, The Battery, George Street and the Harbor front. Afternoon coffee and tea are available in our sunroom or on our covered deck. The Rendell Shea Home has retained most of it's original period character. It was the home of St. John's first Mayor, Mr. George Shea and his wife Margaret Rendell Shea. The home remained in the Shea family for more than 100 years.
