We stayed here in late August. With COVID restrictions, the dining room/bar had restricted hours limiting their availability. Check in was smooth as we had reservations. Our room was clean and quite comfortable. It is in a great location to explore all areas of the Annapolis Valley, especially all the nearby vineyards. Even the property itself is nice to explore, walking through the orchards.
We did make reservations one night for the dining room and the food was delicious.
Checkout was smooth as well. Will return again.
This is an older hotel and no doubt require some upgrades, but it is clean and comfortable and the pricing is reasonable.

We booked our double room through Expedia so we did not get the included breakfast but it was available for a fair price. Our room was large, with two comfortable double beds, fridge, coffee maker and tea, coffee, etc. The bathroom was recently renovated and included all the amenities and adequate towels. I really appreciated the deep soaking tub. Due to Covid measures, our breakfast was preordered and ready for us in a bag, There was lots of food though the only options were coffee or tea so my daughter did not get anything to drink (I think an option for milk or orange juice would be nice). We ate in the dining room and enjoyed the spectacular view and later went out to the sun deck to take more photos. This is not to be missed along with the beautiful landscaping. The front desk staff were very helpful in recommending a cab, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Big shout out to the staff who seemed to take the Covid issue seriously. Everone was always doing their best to make sure we felt protected. The view is spectacular and right now the orchard is loaded with old varieties. The lady at the front desk said there were 9 different types and listed them off. I had a russet apple that blasted me back in 40 years in time. The Pinks were so delicious I could have stayed there all day eating apples.
Yes, the place is dated but we found everything to be very clean. Our breakfast was decent but I don't understand why there is no table service as there is in the evening. I had the striploin medium and lovely hot veggies which was enjoyable. My wife had the scallops and she was happy with her meal as well. The waiter was professional and friendly. Our first night was a room with two doubles, so we slept apart and enjoyed the space. The second night we had a queen room facing the orchard with a small deck. We enjoyed a glass of wine until someone lit up some weed. I thought we got decent value, and my wife and I always look for the positives everywhere we stay. Life is too short to gripe.

First visit here and it is such a beautiful place! Scenery is incredible both on the property and in the distance. Lovely deck to sit outside and enjoy the view, Apple orchards on the property, pool, spa, outside games. Lots to do. Very interesting decor inside. We were celebrating our 48th anniversary and there was a lovely thank you and congratulations card as well as some treats which was very touching. Room was clean and comfortable. A few suggestions - there was only one plastic glass and 1 coffee cup in the room so not good for 2 people. A big beef of mine is that hotels only give 2 washcloths in a room. If my husband and I both shower at night we like to have clean face clothes for the morning. They did provide them when requested.I questioned the availability of gluten free food but was told due to COVID 19 there was a shortage of supplies. There were several breakfast options available to preorder but nothing for gluten free requirement. Didn’t bother trying there for dinner. Staff were friendly and good location.

At 181.70 a night you would think it would be a 5 star hotel. I am generous giving it a 2. The rooms are outdated, cold and disgusting. The carpet had bleach spots. The smell of cigarette smoke and weed was unbelievable. When I complained to the front desk at how bad the smell was in our rooms I was told there was nothing they could do about it "it's not like we can knock on every door and ask them if they are smoking" You sure the heck can if they are breaking your house rules and if it is making other guests uncomfortable. The breakfast was cold, the eggs were hard, the apple was rotten and not much to choose from. We cancelled our breakfast pre-order the 2nd morning. The swimming pool was freezing, not the water, the sitting area. You could see your breath. I'm not lying or exaggerating. They put the charges through on your credit card when you check in plus an extra 100.00 for incidentals. When you check out they tell you that they can't cancel the hold, that's up to the bank to do it. This is an absolute lie. Call your bank, the bank can't take the hold off of your credit card. If someone puts a preauthorization on your credit card, no one but the person who put the preauthorization on your card can do it. The girl checking me out thought she was a smart as* When I insisted that the preauthorization be removed she handed me a piece of paper from the debit machine and said "see, I tried to cancel the preauthorization and it was denied, I did my best" We looked at the dining room menu, very expensive and there was nothing on the menu for children. Very disappointed and will never go back.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite over the long weekend of September and after spending two nights, paying over $600 we were treated with the utmost disrespect by staff and the OWNER! It is clear at the this hotel that they do not care about the quality of their rooms (it was the original stained carpet in the HONEYMOON SUITE!) or the quality of their customer service.
We were rained out of our wedding photo spot and after paying this kind of money for a hotel room, we thought we could go back and take some photos at the hotel....after asking permission at the front desk and giving the go ahead, my photographer was taking us through the dining room to the balcony out front when this rude waiter (balding man, glasses, slender build) stormed up to us and demanded we finish this up in 5 minutes and 'get out'! We tried to explain it was passed by the front desk for approval and he said 'you don't have permission from the owner, now get out!'. Well, after leaving the building and contacting the owner, the owner himself (Bill Wallace) told me that we didn't give any notice and his staff had every right to kick us out! There wasn't a soul in the dining room we walked through and there was not a soul on the balcony! The place had two staff - that's it! We are outraged! If the owner has this kind of attitude, it's no wonder his staff treats people like that too! There are a lot of other hotels/B&B's in the area - choose those over this one! Trust me! Save your money and dignity!

Set 13-15th we had the pleasure to stay at the Inn on a "Couples Adventure Tour". First night included an AMAZING 5 sample tasting menu and cheese tray hosted by Alan. What a fantastic experience. He is super knowledgeable about the local wineries, cider houses, breweries and provided great guidance to help with the next day of touring the Wolfville area with 4 included passes. Supper at the Inn was very good with excellent service. The rooms were comfortable with a balcony open to the stunning view of the bay and breeze. The complimentary Tidal Bay by Jost was finished as well as the chocolate chip cookies! The thank-you note was a nice personal touch. We will be back.

I booked this property for family coming to stay from out of province. I booked two chalets, for 6 nights. The chalets were cozy and very clean.
I do have some complaints though:
I was very disappointed to find out that there was no check in early option. I am happy to pay a fee for that, as I have done it in other places out west. Their flight came in early and check in was not until 3. I was told I had to pay for the night before on each chalet to check in early ( an extra $400 to check in 5 hours early ). I paid to check into one early, because we needed to. BUT I strongly advise now that there is new ownership to do something about that. The front desk was far from accommodating. We will stay in air b and b's from now on because of that. I don't mind spending money on good service, but when we were spending $2600 - the fact it was a big deal for an early check in, has made me not want to support this business. I hope the new management does something about that.
Also, they have very few beds with queen beds, that is also something that should change- having the majority of your rooms with 2 double beds... not ideal.

Response from James Clouthier, General Manager at Old Orchard Inn
Responded 6 Feb 2024
Hi Ashley, you make some great points here. We agree. The new policy is that if we have the room avail, we check in as early as we can. No Charge!!! We are also doing room renovations now, and replacing all the double beds with Queens. First Floor rooms will be completed this spring!

My wife and I visited Wolfville and stayed at this Inn. The room was very nice and comfortable. The restaurant meals were very good. Unfortunately when we visited there was the Covid pandemic and as such breakfasts were only able to be picked up from the restaurant. We identified whet we wanted the night before and identified when we would pick our meal up. The supper food was very good. I would recommend this Inn.

We were 3 couples who came for the weekend. 2 of the couples stayed 2 nights and took in some cross country skiing in the valley on the trail. We booked the 4 course meal with wine pairing, for supper and it was 5 star. It was professionally done. Everything from the choices on the menu to the presentation and execution. We were pleasantly surprised and would definately do it again. Thank you to our server Alex who did a fantastic job explaining all of the wines and for he personal touch. To top it off our tea came in a hot pot and the tea cup was heated as well. Our breakfast the next morning was ordered on-line the night before and when we arrived at the diningroom it was ready for us. Eggs over easy were done perfect (travellers breakfast), it was a great start to the day. The view from the diningroom was spectacular and we were even greeted by a cardinal just outside feeding on a berry bush. Went for a swim in the pool which I was able to book 1st thing in the morning so went after breakfast. Can not complain about a thing. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable with a nice soaker tub. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the pleasant experience. We'll be back!
