We went to see a show at the Kings Theatre and decided to stay overnight at The Lark & Loon Inn. This 1890's accommodation has all it's original charm. Pulling up into the driveway there is an immediate sense that you are welcomed to a real treat and adventure. Upon entering the house you find high ceilings and crowned mouldings. I have a real appreciation for the workmanship and quality woodworking throughout the house. We were greeted by our gracious host Marie. She made us feel right at home. I totally "Geeked Out" on the beautiful hardwood staircase which led us to our room. It was the Annapolis room. It is spacious and cozy with a four post bed and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. We slept very well and in the morning Marie had breakfast ready to go. There was a delicious smoothy , granola, and a cinnamon roll to start. All made in house. Then the coffee arrived and soon after an absolutely delectable Eggs Benedict with asparagus, hollandaise sauce, Canadian bacon, and yams. Like I said in the star rating...Excellent!!!!

Stayed for a long weekend mid-summer.
Marie, our host, was warm, helpful, and extremely hospitable.
The B&B is located only a few minutes walk from the center of Annapolis Royal, so you can do all your exploring and go out for meals or drinks without ever having to take your car.
Our room was large, bright, and very clean with lovely furnishings. There were windows that could be opened for fresh air, and there's a heat pump in every room for heating or AC if needed.
Breakfast was fantastic.
Highly recommended this lovely accommodation to anyone thinking of visiting Annapolis Royal.

We spent a very comfortable and relaxing two days at the Lark and Loon for a "Girls' Weekend". Marie was the perfect host; she made us feel very welcome and was attentive to all our needs. The homemade breakfasts were varied and delicious, prepared with obvious care. The well appointed rooms are beautiful and we all slept well. The common areas are also set up for the comfortable use of guests, and we made good use of the lovely screened porch and other rooms. Marie was helpful in suggesting places to eat and we enjoyed eating our way around Annapolis Royal. You can't go wrong staying at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast in this charming town!

Beautiful property in a great location just minutes from the centre. Marie, the host, is an exceptional cook and breakfasts are amazing. Lunch will not be required! Rooms are wonderfully furnished and beds are very comfortable.
All four bedrooms are up stairs so this would not suit anyone with mobility issues. Marie quickly hanged our room when she saw that we would not be able to climb in and out of a bath easily. Some rooms have a walk in shower. One has a shower inside the bath. A lounge, tv room with a fridge and sunroom are all available for guests.
Marie is an excellent host, advising on good places to eat or visit and interested in the responses but in no way nosy.

We had a wonderful stay in the Champlain Suite, which is perfect for a family with kids. The hosts put a cot bed in the kids’ bedroom to accommodate a third kid, which was key to their comfort.
The breakfasts were delicious! Every morning we had a fruit salad with great coffee and juices. A variety of different breakfast options were presented to us.
Lovely hosts and we will come back again for sure!

Kevin and Lesley had that wonderful knack of making us feel right at home from the first moment to the last. Lots of relevant information about the history of the home and sharing their journey to be the present owners.
Lesley made us hot bread for starters every morning and Kevin would show off his chef skills with sumptuous breakfasts.
We spent hours just relaxing in the parlours. Every room was so tastefully decorated that the whole home just oozed comfort and relaxation.

Had nt realised what a special night it was going to be in Annapolis Royale. Not only is the town the founding place of the Canadian confederation, but it is also a delightful town to have as a base for exploring the bottom end of the Annapolis River. The loon and Lark is one of the oldest houses in Annapolis and has been very sympathetically refurbished by the current owners. There is a warm and enthusiastic welcome with plenty of information about the house and the town. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was the best my wife has had on our entire trip.

Lesley and Kevin Wright have a magnificent Victorian house in Annapolis Royal and serve the finest of breakfasts. The rooms are large and elegant, decorated with great care in period style, extremely clean, the bedrooms are well appointed and supremely comfortable. The dining has to be experienced to be believed, a choice of perfectly cooked and beautifully presented dishes are served to you on a table fit for royalty. The hosts are entertaining, knowledgable, talented and very hospitable.
You could not do better!

We popped in here on a Sunday afternoon in Sept 2020 and asked if there was a free room. We were taken with the loveliness of Marie. It felt like we'd surprised our favourite aunt and she was thrilled to see us. Our room was stunning with a four post bed and elegant furniture. It was grand, but still warm and cosy. We appreciated using the small guest fridge in the family room. Breakfast the next morning was a three course affair. Trust me, you will never be served a breakfast like this again.

We can't wait to return soon!
