A heritage hotel with modern amenities and valet parking. The restaurant serves good reasonably priced food with very friendly and competent staff. The front desk folks were very helpful. I will stay there again.

Thanks to Brittany D., I was able to have a great night with my girlfriend for a night out for a Christmas party and more. Brittany was easy to work with and communicate to to provide us an amazing King Suite with a fireplace, living room area for guests and wine! Brittany provided us all the information we needed and...

Mismatched furniture, tiny bathroom, ugly view, terrible soundproofing......overpriced. The other old hotel in downtown Halifax, the Westin, is way ahead in all comparisons. Only redeeming quality was the main floor dining room with good service and unexpected food quality that is worth a trip in itself, you don't have to stay there to eat there.

Nice hotel, nice people, comfortable room - but a terrible restaurant! The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and my room was clean and comfortable. The bed was soft and fluffy, and the bathroom amenities were Aveda, and so nice!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Lord Nelson, 40 years ago so we thought it would be appropriate to 'visit the scene of the crime' ! I can't say enough good things about our stay at this hotel. The staff, from the front door, the bar, reservations and house keeping were all so kind and welcoming....

This charming hotel with its impressive lobby is ideally located just a short walk to the waterfront. Although quite old- decorating and updating has resulted in a comfortable classy hotel with old fashioned charm and character. Lovely rooms-friendly and helpful staff-and good food. I am looking forward to return.

I was in town for a conference. I only realized I was being charged $50 more/ night that the other conference guests when I spoke to them. The front desk staff told me that is because I booked a suite. I told them I booked whatever the conference had blocked off and that the rate should have been the same....

I stayed for 3 nights during a conference. The hotel still has a sense of grace and historic charm, although it's faded a bit. The room was good, but the view was marred by extensive construction going on around the hotel. Breakfast was fine, with a decent range of choices for the buffet (although they use an annoying paper-chit system...

We stayed for 2 nights, at the end of our trip to Canada. We had a great room, with 2 queen size beds which were very comfortable. Views from the room were non-existent, but that didn't bother us. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and available when needed. the hotel is excellently situated to explore Halifax.
