The check-in was a terrible event. I thought they were going to refuse my room. My driver's license does not include the name I use because of space. I had plenty of credit cards etc. in my wallet but the desk was refusing my ID. It flustered me as I just toured Europe with my DL as an ID. They eventually let me stay and assigned a room. The room had a fridge that was full of water. I asked for another room and the fridge did not work in the new room. I just gave up asking again as they said it was repaired by a person after I called and went out for dinner. It wasn't. I would not stay there again - the front desk experience was just too much for us and ruined my night in Halifax. Bye bye Four Points.

Issues (for me) started at check in. There is no access to the lobby by car. You have to park (in downtown Halifax), walk to the lobby and check in. You're given a passcode to the underground parking, which is not guaranteed. I paid 1,693.36, for 3 nights for a small suite, and no guaranteed parking? So if you come in late, good luck! I was on the 5th floor. No ice machine on every floor. Every second floor. Ladies, NO makeup mirrors in bathrooms (at least in my suite). The hotel restaurant is quite the walk from the rooms. If you've ever been in a 5 star hotel, this is not it. The service in the restaurant was mediocre. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Room showed signs of age. Floors all scuffed. It is convenient to the waterfront.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, my first time was during the pandemic and it was quite bad. This time around it was much nicer; the service, staff and cleanliness was improved. I was treated quite well as an Elite Platinum member. The property is due for a remodel, but that should come in time. For the price, some other Marriott properties in Halifax are worth a check.

This hotel is well situated a block from the wharf area. Rooms are large and comfortable. On my first check-in, I had room 5006 with a slight view of the water. Know that the safe and mini-fridge are located in the cabinet under the TV. There is a desk, easy chair with ottoman, two queen beds and a closet with hangers that come out (very helpful if you need to do laundry). Linens are bright white. Everything about this hotel looks new. I was especially impressed with housekeeping who asked me several times if I needed anything -- water, coffee, etc. I appreciate them being pro-active. They have a nice restaurant (just opening in June) with access from the 4th floor. I was with a group and the included breakfast was generous. It was plated and different on the two mornings I was there. Each was delicious. On mornings, there is a table in the lobby with a continental breakfast available. I would stay here again - it is a great location, with a friendly and helpful reception staff, and comfortable, well-equipped rooms. …

Pros: Great downtown location.. walking distance to restaurants/pubs/night life, and the waterfront. Comfortable bed & pillows. Cons: We were in room 5016, it was extremely outdated. It looked nothing like the pictures you see online when booking! Disappointing!

We checked in and were informed that they sold out of parking for that day so we had to park just up the street which was fine but when I asked where all I was told was "around the corner" and shown a map at the front desk... but not being from the city... I was hoping for a bit more details. The hotel is in a great location, close to the waterfront and the bed was comfy. The room was really drab and not what you'd expect from this chain. The worst part was the party happening until 3AM on our floor. There were men screaming at each other from down the hallway, people running up and down all night and banging on people's room doors. I managed to fall asleep once just to be woken up again at 2:30 to drunken yelling. When I told the front desk staff the next morning about it I was told that because I prepaid for the room they couldn't refund me anything... but had I not paid yet, they could have. WHAT? So instead we got a whole $10 coupon for a coffee shop across the street.... when there was free coffee in the lobby. Oh, and there's no restaurant. …

In your comments, you mentioned that your stay was interrupted by a loud disturbance caused by other guests.. My hope is that all our guests experience a relaxing and peaceful stay, and I am very sorry that this wasn’t your experience. Would rate the front desk staff a 8 out of 10 due to the lack of concern about one of the staff. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful and cleaned up when we only ask that our garbage been taken out. Room was very comfortable When the phone wasn't working one of the young front desk staff came up and took immediate charge and fixed the problem. We were looking forward to using the "hot tub" but who ever is responsible for the hotel's web site should delete the hot tub picture s it hasn't been there, per front desk staff, at least 10 years. The fitness room only has 2 out of 4 of the stationary and Eliptical bike working. Gave up after mentioning it to the front desk staff on two occasions. Had a nice washroom with safety bars, but would suggest bringing a safety mat and there were no safety strips in the tub. Surprisingly I found out the hotel did not have a liquor licemce so I had to go to another hotel for some "brown pops' on New Year's eve.…

We were able to reserve 2 rooms on short notice for which we were very thankful. We had very nice rooms. The people at the desk were very helpful as to where to go for meals or finding our way to the waterfront etc.

A centrally located place to stay in the Downtown Halifax area. Within walking distance to the main bus terminal and other attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. A lite breakfast of muffins, fruit, yogurt, granola bars, juice/coffee was provided in the morning. Recommended
