We stayed for one night a couple of nights ago with our 11 month old son. The hotel provided a crib with mattress and sheets for him for the night. Check in was easy and the staff member who helped us was polite, friendly, and very welcoming. It was also quick, which was a plus. Parking is great, and secure. Underground and operated by a pass code or opened by the front desk after speaking through a speaker. We felt very safe there. $25 a day/night with being able to come and go as you please was very good. The room was clean, although extremely outdated. Towels were fluffy and fresh. The room was across from the elevators, and it was not the noise that bothered us, but the smell of pot drifting in from under the door at night. We had to shove some towels in the crack to try to block out the smell. Not the hotels fault, but was not pleasant. Checkout was just as easy and quick as check in, if not quicker. Great location, about a 2-3 minute drive to the Market/Waterfront and close to many great restaurants and bars. The hotel provided a $10 voucher for each guest for Cabin Coffee right next door for breakfast. It's a local coffee place with delicious baked goods and strong, hot coffee! A very nice perk!

Would rate the front desk staff a 8 out of 10 due to the lack of concern about one of the staff. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful and cleaned up when we only ask that our garbage been taken out. Room was very comfortable When the phone wasn't working one of the young front desk staff came up and took immediate charge and fixed the problem. We were looking forward to using the "hot tub" but who ever is responsible for the hotel's web site should delete the hot tub picture s it hasn't been there, per front desk staff, at least 10 years. The fitness room only has 2 out of 4 of the stationary and Eliptical bike working. Gave up after mentioning it to the front desk staff on two occasions. Had a nice washroom with safety bars, but would suggest bringing a safety mat and there were no safety strips in the tub. Surprisingly I found out the hotel did not have a liquor licemce so I had to go to another hotel for some "brown pops' on New Year's eve.

Hello and thank you for the review. We will share this information with the team to ensure the website is accurate and upto date. While our site does not show pics of a hot tub it is possible there are a few old ones kicking around that a traveler posted back in the day. Again thanks for the review and hope to welcome you back in the near future.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. As many others stated, it's a great location near to the downtown and harbour areas. They did not change towels for our 3-night stay (except on request which is totally fine), yet the bathroom, which was really spacious, only had one towel bar about 3' wide, which made it difficult to hang and air dry towels. Glasses were disposable plastic. The hotel as a whole seemed drab and in need of refurbishing. As it's a part of the Marriott family of hotels, I was expecting a certain quality that I found lacking. On the positive side, we received excellent customer service from their staff member, Brandon, who went out of his way to help us out when we experienced difficulty with the pullout sofa. Also, front end staff was helpful in arranging for pick up at the airport on our arrival into Halifax. Lastly, we appreciated the continental style breakfast in the lobby.

There are safety concerns with this hotel. The doors to the marine center (attached to hotel) were unlocked so public could access the restaurant "44 degrees". This made us feel unsafe. Any one can walk in through these doors during restaurant hours and access hotel. There is no security in this area.
Front desk staff are friendly.
There is no free/complimentary breakfast. There is coffee in lobby until 10. It is $30 for parking.
Location is good near the boardwalk. It is one or two blocks away.
Our room was very noisy. We did not realize upon check in it was attached to another room with some college kids partying next door. When we told the front desk they said you should have told us at that time....but I think they should not have put us in an attached room when we were a family that specifically asked for a quiet room.
Our room on 2nd floor was awkward. It was floor level with a patio.
The elevator sensor did not work properly as door slammed on me very hard. It actually jarred my neck.
There is not transportation to the airport but they can recommend someone for $65.
The curtain was a bit damaged and did not block out all light.
The positives: The location is good. The beds were comfy. The room was relatively clean (dust in some areas). The staff are friendly. The room set up is hood. There was a mini fridge and safe (but no microwave).
It feels and looks like a 3 star hotel.

I called the customer see to find out where to park and they gave me the run around. We finally figured it out and there was almost no room unless you had a tiny car. The hotel itself was not worth the amount paid. I have stayed at The Sheridan before and they were great. The hotel had very cheaply made furniture and low quality bedding in the rooms. The was a mildew ring around the bath tub and some of the wall paper was peeling. The rooms were huge. With that said, it is a great location to the waterfront and the hotel restaurants fantastic for breakfast

I am truly sorry for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced with our parking arrangements. Our goal is to provide clear and helpful information, and I apologize that we fell short in this regard. Additionally, I regret to hear that the parking space was insufficient for your needs. Your feedback regarding the quality of the furniture, bedding, and bathroom cleanliness is very concerning. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and we will address these issues with our housekeeping and maintenance teams immediately. Your comments about the peeling wallpaper and the mildew in the bathtub are also unacceptable, and we will take prompt action to remedy these problems. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the hotel's location near the waterfront and had a positive experience with our breakfast offerings. We strive to provide excellent service and amenities, and it is good to know that some aspects of your stay met your expectations. As part of our commitment to improving our guests' experiences, I am pleased to inform you that we are planning a comprehensive renovation starting in December. These upgrades will significantly enhance the quality and comfort of our rooms and facilities. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you experienced. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a stay that truly reflects the high standards of service and comfort we aim to deliver.

The rooms are not bad for this price range and the location is very central to any place you would want to walk to in downtown Halifax. However, there were several annoyances /disappointments about this hotel. Approx. half of the rooms face an 4-walled, open air courtyard that has been turned into a sports bar. The rooms are not soundproofed so you have no choice but to listen to the loud noise from the bar until at least 11::30pm. There was only 1 of 2 elevators working, With social distancing very awkward when there is only one working elevator, many guests chose to use the stairs. Thankfully is it only a 6 story hotel. There are no glasses in the rooms (you have to request them), and overall the rooms seem underequipped. Guests can't expect everything ng to be normal in the times of Covid, but you should be able to expect a quite room that you can get to safely. If you do stay at this hotel, ask for a room facing the water. Hopefully it is quieter.

Mobey we are very sorry for this negative experience. The Courtyard patio beer garden is something we had to try this year to help our local restaurant. There has been some balancing to ensure it's not too loud for guests. While most nights it has not been an issue this weekend proved different. We will address this with the owners to ensure noise is better managed on a go forward. For the in rooms cups you are correct we had these all removed do to covid. We are beginning to re introduce coffee stations, and cups to the rooms in the next few weeks. Just need to ensure it is the correct setup and all per-wrapped. It has been challenging to find. Again, we are truly sorry for this experience. It is not the levels of service we are known for or capable of providing. With hospitality, Dave

My room was adequate and quiet (surprisingly, as it faced a busy city street). So if an adequate room is enough, then this hotel is for you. I would not recommend it for the following reasons: (1) It’s dated and dreary. I’ll post photos of the nondescript lobby. (2) Two tiny elevators, with one usually out of service. Most guests tried to be respectful of others’ space, but that meant long waits. (3) No food service. No breakfast, not even coffee. (4) And most of all…the parking ramp is a nightmare. While I don’t expect them to redesign it to make fewer dead ends and add better lighting, they could at least have decent signage and clean up the trash. Parking spaces are at a premium, but the garage is cluttered with heaps of laundry and discarded hotel furniture. Sheraton seems to have given up on this property and maybe it’s too far gone now to be renovated.

If only there was a way to attach the video of the rodent scurrying up the curtains in this hotel room... the pictures will have to do, as there's not much more to be said. Completely unacceptable in a Canadian city and at a price point of $300+ per night.
The room was refunded, but the desk offered no support in securing alternative accommodations. We paid out of pocket for another hotel in the city.
In searching the reviews on the hotel website, another customer had had an issue with mice TEN months ago... it sure doesn't seem like that issue was addressed.

The Four Points is what you would expect of a downtown Sheraton Hotel in a larger city. Location is very convenient to the downtown and a short two block walk down Salter Street to the waterfront area of retail shops and restaurants. It is also a short walk to the maritime museum, as well. Minor issues with room telephone not working, etc. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. Did not take any meals at the hotel so can't comment on food services. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel.

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel for one night and I would never stay at this hotel again. We’ve stayed at a quite a few hotels now around the city and you can get something much nicer for cheaper. I can excuse the “old feel” of the hotel because renovations could be done but it is what it is. What I can’t excuse is the poor service at the front desk during check in. They swiped my credit card without telling me they were charging me for anything (I had prepaid the room - they didn’t tell me I was paying for a deposit). The room had some kind of fluid stain on the bed skirt, AC was noisy which didn’t bother me but I can see how it would bother others. The loud partiers were a bit much though. If you were a smoker there were no places to smoke except outside on the busy streets. Just not a nice relaxing place to stay if that’s what you’re looking for! The only reason it’s getting 1 star is because Niche restaurant attached to it was amazing.

I stayed there last October. No the hotel parking is not free. Keep in mind that this is right downtown where parking has high demand. Parking will run around $20/24 hrs., or overnight. The street parking is free, but around the hotel it is maximum 2 hours. Overnight on the street is okay on weekends, but good luck in finding a spot. Very high demand for a limited number of spaces.
There are more places to choose from in the Halifax area.
