We stayed June 26-28 2022. 2 bedroom room. Good price, free breakfast with a few hot options, and free parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. 5 minute walk to loads of activities to do on clifton hill and about 10-15 minutes straight down clifton hill to the falls. Ask for a room facing the falls and watch the fireworks night show at the falls from your room. It looks a little older in decor but clean. We had a problem with our air conditioner and the maintenance crew were there in 15 minutes and they took the unit and fixed it immediately. ! However please note all hotels in the area charge the "tourism tax" (LF &T plus a $2 fee) THE TOURISM TAX IS VOLUNTARY. This was an exposee by CBC news a couple of years ago. You have to specifically request to remove the fee and they do /did no questions asked. Same fee with different name EFT appeared on a restaurant nearby but I paid the bill before I noticed it.…
We rented the 2 room suite, it was absolutely horrible. The air conditioner didn't blow cold air, there was a leak in the light in the bathroom that leaked so bad it was dripping onto the counter top. Black mold in the bathroom as well. The fridge they had in our room didn't work. The keys don't work half the time. Room wasn't clean when we checked in. Avoid this place at all cost.
FREE PARKING BREAKFAST INCLUDED Breakfast was typical hotel fare- cold cereal, toast, bagels, English muffins, juice , tea, coffee , sausage rounds, scrambled egg rounds. NO fruit. But some hotels are still only offering bagged breakfast d/t Covid restrictions so this was a bonus. Two queen beds room was spacious, beds and pillows were comfortable. No issues with bathroom. One block from Clifton Hill and easy walk to falls. Pool was closed , not sure why. TV- no decent channels available, not even CBC! Useless! Would definitely return to this hotel. Did I mention FREE PARKING. Another bonus as this wasn’t available at many hotels when I was searching.
Pretty much as expected for the price Good value with convenient location, free parking and included (although very basic) breakfast. A few apples or bananas would be nice! Beds were clean and comfy but decor is right from the 70s and badly needs updating-stained carpets, wear on popcorn ceiling, black marks on grouting around bathtub are just a few things I noticed. Only one elevator works - seems it has been like that for years, based on past reviews. TV needs more options and a better coffee maker and microwave would help. On the plus side, room and bathroom were clean and staff was nice. So all told it was fine but I might choose elsewhere if I ever return.
We booked here for a 24 hour escape, perfect for the money! The room furnishings were dated but clean, linens were spotless. We prefer the 'old' casino and this hotel is very close to it and Clifton Hill. So a short walk, free parking (we were allowed to keep our car in the lot after check out as well) and hot breakfast included made this easy and economical.
Beds are comfy, room is dirty and gross. Breakfast is mediocre Staff is friendly and it’s close to everything. Overall not impressed but it’s fine since we spent less than 12 hours there. Although cheap we would not book here again.
We reserved a SUITE for Aug 14/21 . When we arrived we were informed that the suites were not available and that we would have to accept a standard room, this is noon on a Saturday, so we took the room. We assumed since we had ordered a suite that we had paid a suite rate but no discount was offered. This is room 320 and be advised the wall paper was peeling off the wall, the carpet was in poor condition. there was a hole in the wall and the fire sprinkler in the bathroom was siliconed in. We have stayed here in the past and considered it a good clean motel. NOT SO must be new owners.......... the place is a DUMP!!!!! My advice is stay clear............... Terry Walters
I knew when I booked this hotel that it was older and probably needed some updating, but what was important to me was the cleanliness of the rooms. I wanted an affordable place to stay that was clean--that's what we got. If old carpet and older fixtures bother you, then this might not be the place for you, but we were very happy with our stay. The staff has been so helpful and very friendly which makes everything wonderful--it's lovely to be greeted with a friendly voice when we go to the front desk or call the front desk. Note that because of COVID, there is no swimming and no free breakfast.
This hotel is within walking distance to Clifton Hills and the Falls. Because we visited when pandemic restrictions were still in place, we didn't have use of the pool or dining area. Safety measures were strictly followed (like no room service unless specifically requested) so we felt safe. The room was a very generous size. Would it pass the white glove test? No (stains on the floor, cobwebs, needs updating), but it was okay for our needs and budget. Would definitely stay here again.
This past weekend my family and I decided to get away and go to Niagara Falls. My hotel of choice was always the Clifton Victoria Inn (Formerly Hampton) The location was superb, free parking etc. For years now the hotel has had no upgrades what so ever..I overlooked this for years due to the location, free breakfast etc... When we checked in, for starters, our cards did not work for the room. We left, came back a few hours later and that was fixed. The condition of the room was horrible. Ripped Wall Paper, light fixture coming off the walls, disgusting toilet set. The room had a horrible smell of wet old carpet to it. Every hour or so I was spraying an air freshener..... Upon check-in, I had asked the lady to get the "tourist tax" removed upon checkout. She said sure just let us know. When checking out, a different lady was there and pretty much told me its a resort fee and it has to be charged? A resort fee? This place is anything but a resort.... At that point, I was not even going to bother to argue for the 20 some odd dollars. I handed in my cards and left. Carpets are old, only one elevator working, the place is horribly run down. I can't stress that enough. It used to be a family favourite, but that was during the Hampton Days when things were "kept up" Do yourself a favour and find a newer more modern hotel that cares about their guests. And one last thing, the lady during checkout did not even ask me how my stay was, or how was the room. The hallways had NO A/C in them, and only a few lights in the parking lot worked. Sure makes you feel safe parking your car there at night. Just stay away people.…
