Kent and Elizabeth have created an inviting and updated B&B experience while honoring the history and charm of the house. The location is perfect for walking to the shops, restaurants and theaters and for ending the evening at the Irish Pub across the street. Breakfast each morning was a highlight for both my vegetarian husband and this carnivore wife! The lovely accommodations were only surpassed by the delightful conversations with Kent and Elizabeth.
The place is a perfect balance between a full blown hotel and a B&B. The owners maintain a separate portion of the inn. The guest rooms are very private and generously sized - yet there's a sizable public area to spread out and socialize. The place was well equipped and spotless. The location was ideal, close to but not in the middle of the busiest street in Niagara on the Lake. As if all of that wasn't enough - the innkeepers were very hospitable. Breakfast was second to none with always a few choices on the menu. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.
This was our first visit in Niagara on the Lake and we were extremely fortunate to have stayed at the Harrogate House. Everything about our stay was perfect from the lovely, immaculate and spacious rooms (York and Kensington) to the gourmet breakfasts. The inn is perfectly located on a quiet residential street just moments away from the central restaurant and shopping district. Elisabeth and Kent were welcoming, caring and helpful hosts who made our stay quite memorable. It is quickly obvious that the inn is a labor of love for them. They have shown great thought in ever detail of their B & B. We also greatly enjoyed our informed and entertaining discussions with them and wished we had been able to stay longer. We had a great week in NOTL at Harrogate House. Although it is on one of the main streets, it was quiet and very comfortable. Nice breakfasts with a choice and the menu changes daily. This is centrally located and great for all theatres.
Simply put, we loved everything about our stay at the recently refreshed Harrogate House Inn. The rooms were first rate, the breakfasts were exquisite, the accoutrements were top notch, and convivial hosts Kent and Elisabeth were beyond gracious. For those of you who stayed here when it was La Toscana di Carlotta, you will enjoy this new take on a familiar setting. You will not be disappointed.
We stayed at Harrogate House for 2 nights and it is our most favourite spot to stay. Kent & Elizabeth greet you with open arms, we always stay in the Kensington and it is always clean and welcoming. Kent prepares wonderful breakfasts for you. The Inn is in the perfect spot. Steps away from the main street and right across the street from an Irish pub. If you want a terrific getaway spot, stay here. You will NOT be disappointed. Kenton & Elisabeth do everything they can to make your stay amazing. Make sure you get a chance to say hi to Molly and give her ears a scratch xo.
Parking is convenient to main stip. Breakfast great. Room not as great. Very small, no place to sit and relax. Also - hostess was wonderful = but host himself insulted me twice during our stay. Will not return.
We had a wonderful time last week at Harrogate House and can't wait to go back next year! Kent and Elizabeth are the perfect hosts and have done a beautiful job renovating this historical house located just a block off Queen Street and halfway between the theaters--easy walks , We went as a group of 8 friends and stayed for 4 nights, seeing 7 plays. There is a variety of cuisine (Greek, Thai, Italian, Sushi, for example) with something for everyone in this charming town. Fabulous breakfasts were prepared by Kent, our host and chef, and were served outside on their garden terrace if we chose. I can't say enough good things about our relaxing and fun stay at Harrogate House!
Lovely home, very personable couple a wonderful B&B. The breakfast was delicious and the presentation impeccable as one would expect given that one of the hosts is a trained chef. There is a lovely garden in front where one can have breakfast served al fresco.
Prime location to explore beautiful Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake by foot. We stayed in the Painswick Room, very comfortable bed & pillows and huge washroom. We enjoyed local wines on our private second story balcony and watched the horse-drawn carriage pass by in the evenings. Daily breakfast choices were masterpieces of culinary delights! Service was impeccable but the best part of our stay was the advice and recommendations from our delightful hosts, Kent and Elizabeth Needham. They can make arrangements for you to enjoy local restaurants and wineries and every suggestion was stellar! Highly recommend this experience!
